Hi everyone,
I posted a few weeks ago and didn't know if anyone can help me as I am in agony with an old TMS problem. Here is what I posted a few weeks ago:

I am having a return of my old wrist/thumb pain at night, which I know is the TMS sleep monster, i.e. my subconcious getting the better of me. It's starting again, that painful clicking of the wrist tendons and the thumb in pain. I resolved this like a year ago and I've had a ton of stress at work lately. I find myself waking up thinking about the work issues and the pain is there in the wrist/thumb. I know it's the old TMS stuff. I am repudiating, reading, talking myself through it with the 10 reminders, etc. doing all I know how to do to get rid of it but it's not working well this time around. Any suggestions?

I am doing everything I know that worked for me when my back/neck/wrists were a mess a year ago and I cannot get rid of this month-long wrist flare up that is back. I also just took a 5 day vacation to FL to get away from work to see if maybe it would ease the brain a bit but it's worse. Can anyone please offer any advice? I am doing literally EVERYTHING I can think of as far as the TMS guidelines and can't get control of it. I'm trying to think of every emotional thing that could be causing the problem and doing a lot of self-talk and I am not getting anywhere. I feel I am going in circles and need another person's perspective/advice/suggestion/encouragement literally ANYTHING to get through this very painful time right now. Thanks everyone.

Suz

Hmm - I wonder if the fear you are in of the pain is perpetuating it. - Try and relax - have a laugh at the pain. You know it is all nonsense. Sometimes, I get very brief twinges in my old TMS location - happened on Saturday morning. I laughed and totally ignored it - just recognized that I was nervous about my date. If you give it power and get caught up in fearing the pain - the brain loves that - picks up on it and increases the pain. It is just trying to distract you - don't pay any heed. The whole thing is ridiculous really!

Suz,
Quite possibly, yes, it's possible the pain is making me fearful. It's making me doubt the TMS diagnosis I was given by my TMS doc last year. It's so bad this time. I will try as you suggest, laugh it away. Thank you for the reply.
