I cant recall anyone mentioning that...but along w/ recent arm pain I feel like my eyes dont focus right anymore. (I'm 37 so maybe just getting older) but I was wondering if anyone has ever documented a relationship w/ TMS
I've had TMS affect just about everything else, so is the gremlin looking for a new playground?

When was the last time you had a full checkup by an ophthalmologist?
If it is more than 2 years, then you need to go. |

I've posted about trouble with my vision. I decided that it was TMS as it had that typical vague, anxiety producing, hypochondriachal feel. There was "something" wrong with the way I was seeing, but I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was...
This was a few months ago and I haven't been troubled since. As it happens, I had a regularly scheduled appointment with my eye guy a few days ago, and everything was ship shape (except for increased ocular pressure due, I swear, to when my own dear little doggie jumped onto my eye from the couch.....I might have to use drops...)
Anyway, that's a digression...By all means go to the eye doc if you're worried, but wanted to let you know that in my case anyway, 'twas nothing but my own inner gremlins doing their thing... |

I have had some eye discomfort lately and I am treating it as tms. It is one the outer white of my right eye. The tissue is a bit swollen, like an allergic reaction and it feels like there is something in my eye. My vision does get blurred because of it. It comes and goes. Weird. Since it becomes a preoccupation, it seems like tms. I finally understood how allergies and tms work after reading Sarno's new book. It is all a distraction.

It is certainly possible these symptoms are TMS.
Regardless, all adults should have a full eye checkup every 2 years, or every year if over 60. When it comes to your vision, you really don't want to fool around. |

I read "Take off Your Glasses and See", by Jacob Liberman. I had worn glasses since I was 25, about the time I started having back pain. I read his book about 1 year ago, and have not worn glasses since, except to check an address. I got this book from the library, I believe it is out of print, but I am sure it is available used, or from your library. The author is a mindbody practicioner, and his book has a lot of insights into seeing, as opposed to vision, as it is tested on a chart. I am near sighted, but I see much better after reading this book. Glasses cause a kind of tunnel vision, and using them less, allows you to see more, literally. I am sure my experience with tms helped me in this respect. Seeing incorporates large parts of the brain, and is not like looking through a camera lens. He is also a very good writer and an interesting fellow. |

I`ve watched a documentary about MPD , Multiple Personallity Disorder, its amazing to see that one personallity has a serious myopia(host) while other personallity shows perfect vision on all tests. |
