Does anyone have the emotional eating as another form of TMS? How do you deal with that?
When I am under stress I have no control with eating, I eat whatever I see :). I know it is emotional but don't know what to do about it.
Any suggestion is of great help. |

This is something I have not been able to kick.
I have no pain...but plenty of gain!
I will be at just the weight I want, but because of a problem, end up gaining 30,40 lbs.
Devastating problems take away my appitite, but just bad stuff makes me want to fill up. I am truely a binge eater. My weight is not too bad now and I exercise alot, but I feel my resolve slipping.
At weight watchers I am up and down the same 5 pounds now for weeks.
I have been successful for almost 20 years as far as pain goes.
But as for gain, I am just not sure it is truely tms. Although I have attempted to treat it that way.
I have a drive to eat. I do not have a drive to have pain. Sandy |

hi optimism and ssjs. Read your post and thought I would wade in on the topic. This has been something I have struggled with as well. I have talked to my therapist about the problem and she has given me some good reading. One book "When women stop hating their bodies" is particularly good. One of the things that helps is when you feel the urge to eat, (as with tms) ask yourself are you really hungry and what is really going on..what are you feeling. If you are feeling down or agitated, get behind it. Try to address the issue in a way that may be more directly related to the feeling..do something to take care of yourself. The book is very constructive and positive. Hope this helps. I know where you are coming from and would be very interested in what you learn. By the way I think this completed related to TMS (same source). Best of luck, Amy |

Yea, I eat bad food when I'm in pain for very obvious reasons.. I'm looking for any type of quick fix I can get. If something tastes really good it can give me a few minutes of pain distraction |
