I usually talk about and journal about many diffrent things, never the same. My question is I write something in my journal and I feel the feelings but when I talk to the therapist a draw a blank because in my head i wrote about it and i got over it and once I write about it I write all the fine details but when I talk I cant really remember any of them even if what I say to my therapist is what I wrote last night. I find myself stopping in the middle of a journal because I think its important that my therapist knows about this part of my life the way I want to write it extensivly. Can anyone reccomend anything? Should I write about something else and then just keep a note that I need to talk to the therapist about something?
A similar idea would be to take your jounraling notes with you when you see your psychologist. If your therapist asks about something that you've journaled about, you could read from your journal. If you've written a lot, you might need to organize your notes so you can find topics easily.
One caveat to this: if you plan to share your journal with your therapist you may have a tendency to censor yourself in fear that you will be embarrassed or judged.
Be sure to continue to treat your journal as a private exercise. The therapist is an impartial, non-judgemental observer and you must feel free to share anything that comes to your mind.
