YEsterday night I had an Epiphany ....

I red Monte's Book and thats it , it was exactly what was missing for me not only to decide to go 100% through the TMS diagnosis, but also to feel this acceptance with my whole body. I basically spent the whole night reading the book. A very excellent book that is designed for Damn skeptical freak like me ... I must tell you, this book will convince even the most skeptical and TMS reluctant ...

Now my recovery really begins ! I feel my life is coming back

cheers ...

P.

I denfinitly feel that this book should be widely advertised as much as Sarno's book. I am serious... It takes too much research to find it ...

Whatever works for you is great. Just keep in mind there are many parts of Monte's book that go beyond what TMS is about. There is really no need to embrace Zen philosophy to get better, though for some people, it can provide valuable perspective.

SuccessStory: I've been doing better and better over the past few months ... I agree Dr. Sarno's books are by far the best to read and re-read but sometimes it gets a little tiresome to look at exactly the same words on paper over and over ...

It definitely helped to hear others offer different perspectives, which somehow or other were all TMS-related ... the bottom line was always the same.

I really liked Monte's book, and also "The Power of Now" - and Fred Amir's book, "Back and Neck Pain," although it goes a bit afield from true "Sarno" philosophy, his recommendation to set a few goals helped me ... when I was ready to try.

I dared myself to stand longer, sit longer, walk without orthodics in my shoes, increase my time in the gym little by little, walk around the apartment barefoot if I felt like it, and over time, surpassed my wildest expectations, which gave me confidence -- and hope ... so maybe there's something to be said for setting some short and long-term goals to conquer the fear ...

I was definitely afraid to try to do more (for fear of making the foot pain, back pain worse), and setting goals and pushing through helped.

Also Candace Pert's CD about Wellness helps me drift off at night and keep positive thoughts about healing somewhere in my mind ...

This is all a process ... for me it took time, not just a few weeks, but more like a year.

It is always great to hear from people who have taken alittle bit longer to recover. It gets frustrating to read Sarnos books and to not have the rapid recovery that he speaks about. Replies like yours give me the courage to persist and to look for small improvements rather than an abrupt disappearance of pain.-R

Where can I get a copy of Monte's book? Amazon doesn't have it, none of the local libraries have it, and when I went to his web site, all I could see is a way to download it but no way to get a hard copy. I can always use a new read to help reinforce my acceptance. Thanks.

I downloaded the book and printed it off. I think the book is out of print. It's a good one!
