I think HBP in some ways is better than MBP, especially if your primary TMS symptom is back pain. |

Rocky, Glad to hear from you again.
I think it is well worth it for the $12-$14 investment and to have them for reference, it is a good idea to read all three of Sarno’s books. If you read them all, especially in order, you can see as he learned more about the effects of TMS while treating patients, he refined his methods as well as expanded on different areas and manifestations of the TMS syndrome. There seems to be a progression, while reading if you highlight the areas that pertain to your condition, when you go back to all three references you will have much reinforcement for a treatment and for making application to your recovery.
Thanks Tom, Been thinking about ya lately haven’t had the pleasure to scrap with ya. Tooo many distractions on the board came about each time we started a topic.
It seems you have increased your physical activity lately with much success? Walking, jogging, running, WOW!
Have you reduced your amount of time on the court?
Last Saturday I moved 7 tons of riverstone for my landscaping. I also downed a pine tree and discarded all the brush also. Still a doer gota get it all done in one day. After that day I felt as if I was hit by a freight train, (sore and in pain) by Monday the feeling was reduced to a Mack truck. By Wednesday I was back feeling GOOD again. This was the first BIG strenuous workout I have done in over a year since my injections and pre- Sarno.
BTW for all you stuck on chiropractic. I had adjustments for 22 years and not have had ONE in the past 2 years. Nor do I stretch daily like I used to.
Chuck one up for Dr. Sarno Thankx Doc.
Always Hope For Recovery

Rocky, I second thst opinion by Kenny V. Thrift stores are a good place to find cheap books for a dime or a quarter. You can satisfy the goodist in you by giving them to friends without breaking the bank. They probably won't read them anyway. Sarno said very few people will accept his theory. |

Rocky,
I recently had a correspondence with Dr Sarno. He related that he does not recommend his first book Mind Over Back Pain anymore. He strongly suggests reading HBP and MBP. I think HBP is better at explaining the theory of TMS while MBP lays out a better treatment plan. If you have $90 hanging around, his actual lecture that he shares with his patients is out on video. It was produced by another successfully treated patient of the good doctor. I got it and HIGHLY recommend it. Seeing the presentation as opposed to reading will help a lot of people. It also gives a specific study guide with concrete steps for you to follow. In addition, I think it will make people who can't see Sarno (he only see patients who live in NY) feel that they aren't really missing anything by not being able to see him.
As you maybe able to tell, the more sources of input that you can get regarding his theories is better for you. If you read the same book all the time, you may lose the attention span.
Good luck,
Mike C |
