I was wondering if anyone has experienced bladder symptoms as part of TMS. I recently had what I thought was a UTI. It went away with antibiotics but then returned several weeks later. All lab reports were negative. However I was placed on a second round of antibiotics (which made the symptoms worse). That was three weeks ago. All lab work continues to be normal (blood, urine, yeast). I apologize for my first message being graphic. I was diagnosed with having TMS 10 years ago (neck, back, restless leg) Could this be yet another symptom of TMS? Any comments would be greatly appreciated

Sounds very familiar to me, Curiosity18. UTI type symptoms plagued my life for a few years. Given that they disappeared when severe back pain kicked in, I can only assume they were TMS.
It began with a genuine infection which was very severe - I was hospitalised because of it. From then on symptoms kept returning, but no infection ever showed up. Doctors suggested a low grade infection which was not showing up and I was prescribed low dose antibiotics for six months - still miserable because of pain and other symptoms, with which you will be familiar,
I had an investigation under general anaesthetic and that scan where they inject you will something that shows up when they scan you over a period of time to check how fluid is passing through the kidneys.
Again - nothing showed up. I might add, all this took place during a time of great difficulties in my family - illnesses and bereavements. I didn't make any link at the time, though.
Around three years ago, I began to get severe lower back pain and the UTI type symptoms never returned. Now, it could just be the case that the doctors were correct and the cystitis had just run its course, but somehow I don't think that was it; it seems much more likely that it was TMS.
Best wishes
Anne

UTIs, yeast infections, yes. They can be TMS related. Urinary problems are definite manifestations of TMS but you of course would want to rule out some other issue. |
