Dear TMS'ers,
I have had many TMS successes over the twenty years I have been aware of DR. Sarno's work.
Currently I find myself stumbling on an interesting series of symptoms including chronic throat clearing, and a feeling you get when you breath in to much smoke, occasional palpitations in stomach (sometimes around throat area. , a slight swelling sensation on back side below left arm pit, and very swollen ring finger on right hand (I'm a profession piano player) dry mouth and slight indigestion. I went to an acupuncturist who's general diagnosis was “stagnate blood” resulting in limited blood flow to vital oragens. I felt a little better after first 2 treatments. He then recommended a treatment plan involving 30 more sessions to the tune of $5400.. ( I don't have insurance)..Also being 65 years old he gave me to normal medical run down on aging, blah, blah ….
In the past three years there have dealt some heavy hitting emotional things on my plate including the
a suicide/murder (my daughters step dad took his like and the life of his 4 year old daughter), my daughter's sister..... Also concerned with my 95 year old mom who is usually unhappy in her assisted living home. Also being a free lance musician, composer and part time single dad have been contributors of some stress. So I am leaning toward a 100% TMS approach and considering some counseling rather then pursuing a more tradition or even alternative naturepathic route..... You're comments are greatly appreciated...... Many Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your travails Donroc, my advice on the acupuncture: SAVE YOUR MONEY for something else! Past studies and current ones prove it does NOTHING but empty your wallet--google it and read beyond the industry sponsored sites--use terms like acupuncture scam or new studies. You can get more bang for your buck with massages to give you some relaxation but not with the intent that it will fix it if it's TMS. I did way too many accu sessions, with an ex-"friend", and the benefits lasted only as long as I was on the table, away from the tensions that created the TMS. As soon as my wallet closed to my accu "friend" and the needling stopped, so did the friendship.
