Im in heaven-after 3 years of intense tendon -carpel pain when playing the guitar -its gone-after applying theory from Sarno's first book.
I am reading the 2nd book[slowly]now.

However something happened to my shoulder[a while ago] deep below the muscle -like a nerve or tendon -that has NOT gone away!
The whole shoulder thing started when a chiropracter started messing with it[I had "minor" complaints at the time].
Then it really got triggered during a Shiatsu treatment.

Ive been doing Yoga which sometimes clears it up-but it creeps back.

I guess im wondering if this might be beyond the reach of TMS?

thanx

Thats pretty solid-thanx guys.
I did drop all the pysical treatments 3 months ago-
so I guess its down to the "equivilant" theory.

It is recent area of pain -but not without long term hostory as well.

Johnfindlay -- it sounds like TMS symptom substitution. Your brain doesn't want to give up the distraction strategy. So once you licked the carpal tunnel pain with anti-TMS methods, your brain picked the shoulder area as a replacement because you were already having some minor problems there so extra, distracting pain (supposedly due to a chiropractic misadjustment) would seem plausible there...Like Dave said, you need to drop the physical treatments.

If you believe in TMS, why would you ever consider going to a chiropractor? And, why would you believe that Yoga "clears it up?"

You're thinking physical. If you accept the shoulder pain as TMS you should not be seeking any physical treatments to relieve the pain.
