This guy needs to be clued into TMS! He sounds like the poster-child for it. Unfortunately, he's been locked into a system where his boss--the government--is expected to take care of his and his families life needs FOR LIFE! I surmise that he has hated his job and maybe his life for years and his sub-c has rebelled providing him with TMS back-pain as his out. Fifty years ago if you HATED your job, you'd quit and find one you liked better. And, if you didn't do your job, you got fired by your boss. Now that we have a bureaucracy in the way, it's find yourself a lawyer and a reporter to tell the world about it. Don't mean to sound unsympathetic to the poor chap--if his back-pain is due to TMS, and his sound's like a classic case, he is trapped in the modern system and the "pain industry". He needs to see a TMS enlightened doc to clue him into what's really going on, followed by a new vocation, and maybe a new life--that's what happens when our life expectancy sometimes exceeds our sub-conscious' ability to endure living an existence that becomes intolerable. Dr. Sarno says sitting CANNOT cause injury. I can see why at his age he is tired of lifting heavy bodies day after day, and needs a change of scenery. But, that's the modern system, your employer becomes your mom and dad, but the workmen's comp board won't cooperate and doesn't give a hoot about your emotional needs.
