Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone knew of a TMS doctor in Washington State. I've read both of Dr. Sarno's books and feel that I am making improvement, but I'm ready to get rid of this pain once and for all and think I may need a little help.

I started reading the books about 7 weeks ago. Does anyone know how long this should take?

Thank you.

Go to www.tarpityoga.com for a list of TMS physicians.

Based upon the postings in this forum, a few people recover in less than a month. Most take six months or more. Some take over a year. It is an individualistic sort of thing.

The point is that so many have recovered. You can also. Be of good cheer.

Allan.

Cant give you any advice on your first question, Amymae. I live thousands of miles away, but with regard to your question about how long it will take to get better - it can be as short as Dr Sarno suggests in his books, but it appears from the people who post here that it often takes as long as it takes. If you recover quickly - that's great, but if it takes longer:-

Don't put any time limits on yourself - that's my advice. Enjoy each step towards improvement and don't worry too much about set-backs. They'll get less frequent and less severe as time goes on.

It helped me tremendously to post here - discussing problems with people who understood what I was talking about was invaluable.

Best wishes
Anne
