He said he has to meet with the documentary producers later today about it.

Pretty awesome.

I haven't been here in a while, feel free to delete thread if already discussed here.

Agreed. We are very lucky indeed. I can't blame your friend though. Humans tend to take what they hear, from the first person in authority they heard it from as gospel.
Even Sarno admits if that authority is a surgeon it's too late.

I was fortunate that I had some knowledge of Sarno (albeit skeptical) when I was visiting the medical world. Why the universe was looking out for me I don't know, but I'm grateful.

That's great to hear Skizzik. I was never gonna be a read one Sarno book and heal kinda guy so I got heaps from reading about others who were in the same boat.
It really can take years and is hard work.
A friend of mine who is super fit recently started having low back pain.. 2 months down the track and he's having surgery next week... All the dude has is 2 small bulges and they're wheeling him off for surgery?? I've tried to talk about Sarno but he won't hear it.
Gonna take a long time before the medical world accepts this.
It's also scary to wonder where I'd be if I took a different path and never ordered healing back pain!!

Cool Aussie.

Compared to what I went thru I'm completely cured.

In hindsight, I always thought when I became pain free I'd write a book about it, that my life would be perfect, ecstatic, etc.

Now I kinda look back embarrassingly and see a blur of a large chunk of my life that I can't get back.

I may still have TMS and not realize it though. Instead of pain I may be too obsessive about my kids youth hockey, or an inability to turn down overtime etc.

I reckognize that I do get the normal aches and pains of someone on the wrong side of forty who obsessively works out on top of managing family and working more hours than ever before.

Again I will say compared to the guy who stared at MRI images and re-read dr reports for hours on end that's over. I guess my spine still has the multiple abnormalities, but I'm working out like I'm 21 again and have forgotten about all that.

Either my mind has finally "let go" or my obsession with getting ripped has created more than enough distraction to eliminate chronic pain.

I will say this however, that getting in shape I find myself using the same principles that I used to deal with TMS, in the sense that I'm taking a long term approach, as opposed to needing to be that way in a week. Which I'm sure was the downfall of me being in pain for so long my second time around, as well as why I've never been able to get ripped in the past. Too much too soon.

I think Dave, if he still runs this forum used to have an analogy of treating TMS like someone who aquired good dietary habits, as opposed to someone who would inevitably fail on a diet by cutting calories too fast too soon. That always stuck with me.

Hi Skizzik,
I got a lot out of reading your posts years ago when I first learned of tms. Thankfully I too found some relief.
Out of interest how are you doing with the tms stuff now?
Thanks

That's cool, my husband listens to his show and wouldn't have been open to TMS if not for fact Howard believes in it.
