I just wanted to let you guys know my recent experience with one of Dr. Sarno's psychologist.
It was incredible!
I have only had two sessions and she got to the bottom of me almost immediately. She says that I don't feel emotions very easily - sort of shut down. In my second 45 minute session, she helped me understand my feelings for my boyfriend - why I do what I do. It all made so much sense. I have an incredible sense of relief and it has had an immediate effect on my relationship with my boyfriend. It is just as well, because he proposed to me on Sunday and I said yes! I am now engaged. Funny thing is that I feel totally at peace and relaxed about it. I have never been so excited and happy in all my life. I went to the psychologist crippled with fear about commitment and not really understanding my feelings at all. I told her that I felt numb.

This therapy is one of the best things I have ever done. My skin is already much clearer, my digestion better. The TMS sciatic pain is still there - comes and goes. I find it very hard to break conditioned responses. For example, after I work out - it will hurt or if I sit in a certain way. This of course will all take more time.

Hi Suz,

It may take a week or so for your sciatic nerve irritation to calm down once the tight rictus muscles finally relax and get back to normal. Be patient. Glad to hear you are feeling better already.

Take care, -Stryder

Congratulations Suz! Yep, it all takes time. I found a therapist who is familiar with Sarno too and she has helped tremendously. Unfortunately, the emotions I am conjuring are very uncomfortable and I'm having trouble facing them, especially when it concerns my husband.

Good luck on continued good treatment!
