Has anyone with sciatica reading the forum improved from using the stretching and the (light) weight lifting aspects of the book "Back Sense"? The stretching part is supposed to build confidence in the stability of your spine rather than to correct some deficiency in the spine or muscles so perhaps it is not be incompatible with Sarno...My leg pain much improved from reading Sarno, but I still have been unable to return to many activities, heavy lifting, and reaching forward/downward without an increase in leg pain...I tried the stretching and the light weight dumbbells this morning. I had no pain for a few hours but now the pain is tremendous. It's a lot of pain to go through if it's unlikely to be effective, but so far the gentle approach to returning to all activities advocated by Sarno has not worked for me.
