Hi everyone,

I thought this new study on the anticipation and anxiety associated with pain would be worthwhile to the group:

http://www.thehealthymind.com/2013/11/23/fear-of-pain-is-often-worse-than-pain-itself/

The study found that people suffering from chronic pain report that the fear of their pain worsening in the future can be more disabling than the physical pain itself.

MindBody - there is no separation. I hope you find the information helpful and worthwhile.

Kindly,
Dr. Z

Apprehension of pain has been shown in brain scans. What we worry about is often worse than reality.

I can totally relate to this. The fear of the pain worsening scares the crap out of me oftentimes and I am sure adds to the stress and the TMS symptoms!
