Posted - 09/29/2013 : 08:36:42 Thanks for the article Shawn, I would say when you see a doc, who is part of a large impersonal medical/industrial/governmental health care system, there is very little likelihood that the doc will view you as a human-being and have any EMPATHY for your PAIN. He is unlikely to see you on an ongoing basis or ever again. A waitress at an interstate truck stop will likely have more empathy for you, her malpractice insurance is lower and works for tips.
You are just a bundle of body parts going down the "heath care" conveyor line. My mechanic shows more bedside manner for my car, but he sees it every 6,000 miles or once a year for an oil change and has established rapport with it and they've bonded. There's no money in it for a doc to take the time out of his busy schedule to have a cup of coffee with you to get familiar with your emotional flora and fauna.
G'luck! |
