I am becoming aware that I do mind trips where I am months or longer out solving problems or just keeping the ducks in a row.

We just bought a second home that is over 1,000 miles away and I find my mind working on projects there I have not even seen yet. I also ponder multiple outcomes on many things.

I am starting to believe these mental masturbations are helping to keep my nervous system revved up and my painful tight calves and shoulder not improving.

This probably started when I was a child trying to predict and control the hell in my family.

This nicely resonates with the 'live in the now' principal. Only plan for really practical reasons, then return to the now. Easier said than done, but try to keep it to a minimum.
