Hi all,

After a recent resurgence of some chest, throat and stomach pain (not really sure what it was, all I know is that it was TMS), I found some Claire Weekes audio on Youtube that really helped me move past this pain.

i retract my previous statement about exclusively getting eye tension, i now have the sensations of deep fear in my chest as well as stomach churning, you overcame your symptoms eric?

She is great. One question though. The first few nights it helped my days but I had some sort of nervous break down yesterday that caused me to sleep in until 1. I was so anxious and depressed.

Feel good now but who that was intense. It was like my few days of peace blew up in 5 hours on steroids.

**Sure I can lay down on a bed of nails and not have pain but why am I having back pain when laying down on a soft mattress?

That's a good question dgreen97.
I had both,,,,,

is there any rhyme or reason why some people feel the effects of anxiety like panic, stomach churning, dizziness, etc. while others feel exclusively pain? like us?

I listened to this last night and repeated as I fell asleep. First day applying some of the methods this is good. Thanks for the link

I found this audio to be amazing. I have been going through some ENORMOUS life changes the past few weeks, and I think I have been subconsciously much more tense, as I have been more injury prone in the gym. The TMS/anxiety mind seeks to inure us in every twinge or injury as if permanent. By being reminded to let that flow through me, I have no doubt that my tension set point will trickle back down, and I will once again be light in my mind, keeping the marionette strings lax so that my body can heal, move and breathe.

Thank you!

I just recently listened to the audio and I find it to be so much better than the book. The audio is VERY good and I strongly recommend this to everyone.

As a side-note to this thread, iTunes has recently added an audio work from Weeks called "peace from nervous suffering." This is different than pass through panic, or the others you may have heard. She talks about depression (depletion)... traveling, nervous fatigue, etc.
Many people here may be near the stage where I am... where your nearing normalcy but are dealing with the remnants of years of nervous illness. This recording is excellent for anyone in that state, or who has suffered with panic, anxiety (TMS) in general.

Weekes is the ultimate bad-ass. She stood up to the medical establishment at the time who was trying to medicate people with basic anxiety as having mental illness, schizophrenia, etc.
There are countless stories of her taking bedridden people whom doctors had given up on... and leading them walking down a hallway while medical staff looked on in disbelief.

Sarno is the closest thing we have to Weekes these days, as most doctors are too afraid to stand up to the big-pharma money monster.

As usual, Balto had it right. This woman was a saint.

I was replaying these over and over last night before bed. She has a powerful vibe to her

I love Dr. Weekes, if Sarno Was to put her teachings next to the don't fear quote, I Think that would wrap it up.
When I had anxiety I feared the second wave of fear
and it always brought more fear on, she calls it fear upon fear
and the part where the lady has a panic attack at a school meeting, well its just awesome what she says to do here
sit, sit and it will pass you by- let it flow right through you
Now why couldn't my physiatrist have said this 25 years ago.
I wouldn't have believed him , now Claire she has a way of convincing you...and its believable cause it works.
This is the way to not fear, break sensitization, move on with life.....

GT Fan, thank u for the links. They were so good that I did a search for more & came across this link

http://www.anxiety-central.com/index.php/page/index.html/_/articles/forum/how-to-recover-from-anxiety-by-dr-cla-r68

There are four recordings by Claire Weekes . Each is about 20 mins. They are amazing. I listened and what she says about anxiety Is the same for pain. So if anyone has chronic pain all they have to do is listen as if the recording was for pain. She talks about the body being sensitized & she talks about fear & acceptance. Everything she says about anxiety rings true for pain & the way she speaks & the sound of her voice are very reassuring.

Leave it on while you are in the house or listen to it when u r driving to work or at lunch time but do take the time. It will be well worth your while I promise.

She has been essential to me in my efforts to battle my periodic anxiety and tendency towards rumination.

Just like Sarno, she saved countless lives. In my heart she is a saint.
