Hi Everyone,

I am pleased to announce that TMS practitioner, Alan Gordon, LCSW, has developed and contributed a free TMS recovery program for the online TMS community. Some of you may be familiar with Alan’s work through his free webinars and articles on Breaking The Pain Cycle and Outcome Independence. The program builds off of his experience as a TMS therapist and these past contributions. You can find it by clicking this link.

Alan Gordon describes the goal of the program to generally provide you with a deeper understanding of why you have your pain, how it’s being perpetuated, and what steps you can take to eliminate or significantly reduce it. It is completely free and includes audio clips from coaching sessions that teach you concrete skills for healing your TMS.

Alan has been working on this program for over a year, and I am tremendously grateful to him for donating his time and this program to the online community. And I’m looking forward to reading the whole thing

I forgot to mention that there will be a call in discussion group in about 45 minutes (9:00 PM Eastern Time) about Alan's recovery program. It will be super casual, just a bunch of people on a phone line chatting. I'll be there, njoy will be there, as will a bunch of other people (it's always hard to tell how many will be there in advance). I'd love love love it if any of you would like to join in: TT, Ace, Bryan, PSPA, Fox, Darko, dgreen, LA_Kevin, etc. I've read many posts by each of you.

To join in, Dial 1 646 583 7415. When prompted, enter the pin code 21558901 . Alternatively, if you want to connect via computer and see some of us on webcam, visit http://go.tmswiki.org/connect for full details.

Hi, TT, no worries at all! I would have responded sooner, but I've been incredibly busy working on launching the program and other projects. Before I started the TMS Wiki, I had absolutely no idea how much behind the scenes work it takes to run a 501(c)3 nonprofit. I'm working more than full time on it at this point and plan to keep doing so for at least the next two years. I even have a 30 hour a week assistant! It's all out of pocket, too, but I don't regret one bit of it because I can still remember my darkest days. I would have given anything I had to get my life back before I found the good doctor's work. But now I'm free.

Anyway, sometimes it takes me a little while to respond to threads, but I do my best to follow up eventually.

Thanks for your kind post, TT. I am proud to be able to call you a friend. You are one of the real "lions" of this forum. ... "Lion" is a term I made up for someone who has such a powerful and reassuring voice that it helps others heal. As Steve Ozanich wrote in The Great Pain Deception, "we are as strong as we believe ourselves to be—no more and no less." You help people understand how strong they really are, thereby healing them.

It's been a while since we've talked, TT, and I'd love to talk on the phone some time. The same goes for everyone here. I am continually amazed at how smart the members of the TMS forums are. So many fascinating perspectives! It's been a real pleasure getting those of you I've had the good fortune to talk with. We need to unify the movement and, because we are so small, that means getting to know anyone who is willing to take the time to post and help others. When I've spoken with Steve Ozanich recently, one topic that has come up again and again is the vital importance of unifying this movement. As just about always, I think he is absolutely right.

So if anyone wants to get more involved, wants to ask a question, or even just chat, please feel free to give me a call. I just got another phone line for my TMS work, so I don't even mind posting my number online. It's 1 (857) 250-3999.

In terms of getting more involved, periodically I get calls from TMS doctors and therapists who are looking for someone to talk to their patients to give them a TMSer's view, and I'm working on coming up with a list of people who are willing to take calls like that. Also, I help run a drop in chat every Saturday and we are always looking for moderators to help people out. There are many many other opportunities as well.

One person I would really love to get in touch with is Ace1. I'd love to interview you or even do a webinar. I thought it might be great for this community and could help a lot of people over the years. Likewise, TT, Balto, or anyone else willing to share their story, I'd love to interview you about your success story, like the ones with Nicole Sachs anf Andrew Miller. Success stories were hugely helpful in my recovery, and we are working on making a full YouTube channel of them to help get the message out.

Anyway, thanks for your interest in the TMS Recovery Program that Alan just donated. I'm working through it a second time myself, and I keep on learning new things. It's only 13 pages and an hour of audio, but there are a LOT of great ideas in there.

PS.
Speaking of Steve Ozanich and "lions," I explained the term to Steve in an email yesterday. He's been posting a lot at the wiki's forum recently and he signed one of his recent posts as follows:
Steve
Roar!
… it absolutely cracked me up. I'm not known for my sense of humor (unlike TT or Steve O), but I love that he didn't even bother to explain it. It seems consistent with his message to enjoy life so much that you can make a joke that only you will understand.

In ap(p)o(l)logy to my friend Forest, at the TMS Wiki, for hi-jacking (high-jacking) his thread here, due to my OCD (an affective TMS symptom), in my PERFECTIONIT/GOODIST interest, that ALL TMS expert/authors be cordially wel(l)comed here--even if they are not published by a big NY City publishing house, and allowed to announce their TMS books here, at a TMS site, I will copy his original post, since it's been lost beneath the fold, sorry Forest:

Thanks Fox, that's the attitude! One thing I've found in my long years of toiling here is that most here lack a sense of humor. This site is also different from other message boards that folks get "queasey", (pspa a little help with the sp. here), whenever there's a pissing match here, I think it's part of that TMS "not being able to take life head on, needing to be passive/aggressive, using in(n)uendo(e)s rather then expressing their true emotions--it's only a TV screen folks. Many find these pissing matches entertaining and I recommend they get involved to see how much fun they can be--get involved with life don't be a witness to it.

Cheers,
tt/lsmft

This is the most fun thread ever. I'm hooked. Can't wait to read each post. Actually, some of the bite in each post is diminishing and the playful element is increasing. Keep it coming!

See I said it was hard to spell, thank you Merriam Webster, that's what I mean, the more people here the Merriamer. The more TMS expert authors here, the more TMSHelp there can be, and the better we can all spell difficult words like inuendo/innuendo. I'm not the one who takes it upon himself to insult and exclude TMS authors because he doesn't like the covers of their books, without ever having opened them, that's Brian--talk to him about it, I'll keep this going as long as he continues, for all I know your all him, this is the internet. Inuendo is a variant of innuendo, OK, what's the plural of it?

Thanks for the spell check, maybe you should be an English teacher instead of a lawyer.

Cheers,
tt/lsmft

Nope, not letting go of it, as long as Brian keeps up with his INUENDOS sprinkled throughout his posts, I'll keep reminding everyone that he very rudely tried to keep two genuine TMS authors from being here, calling them "BOOK PEDDLERS", "ADVERTISERS" and "SALESMEN". You'll talk to Brian, he's the one keeping this going. We here in the states cover our buddy's backs and SteveO and Nicole are my buddies. This is no skin off me mates, it only takes me a few moments. It's helping my keyboarding skills, I'm learning to spell difficult words like INUENDO, and learning cross cultural insults like foo-foo valves--is that like a pie-hole? Brian kept miss-quoting the Terms and Conditions of the site, which no one but Brian has ever read. It says you can't advertise to sell products, nowhere does it say you can't announce a TMS book at at the TMS Forum. I'm just going to copy this and correct the record every time Brian spews his INUENDOS. Talk to him mates, you guys are late to this party. It's only a TV screen mates, no need to get so excited, ignore my posts if they bother you. Pretend it's just boiler-plate, ignore me.

Cheers Mates, I'm having me another Fosters,

Agreed.....the really amusing part is just how upset Brian is getting.......NOT. I think we're lucky Brian isn't an Aussie or he would keep stirring TT until he blew a foo-foo valve

Let it go already!! This is beyond a joke now. The point is Forest posted an extremely helpful thread with what looks like the most informative and exciting treatment program available and this has turned into another bunch of crap over stuff that happened months ago. I couldn't care less if Brian is still getting on your nerves TT. It's selfish to make so many of these threads about some childish book salesman debate. I think I speak for most of us when I say Get over it!! It's boring and totally irrelevant to Tms help/advice which is why anyone comes here. I respect you have genuinely helped many here over the years with your Tms knowledge but take note, we are all done hearing this crap you have with Brian. Shouldn't this post be about Alan Gordon's free treatment program!? Stop ruining this for the rest if us.

That's pretty funny Balto!

A preacher wanted to raise money for his church and on being told that there was a fortune in horse racing, decided to purchase one and enter it in the races. However, at the local auction, the going price for horses was so high that he ended up buying a donkey instead. He figured that since he had it, he might as well go ahead and enter it in the races. To his surprise, it won. The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered in another race and it won again. The local paper read:
PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONTThe Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered The pastor not to enter the donkey in any more races. The next day the local paper headline read:
BISHOP SCRATCHES THE PASTOR'S ASSThis was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the pastor to get rid of the donkey. The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent. The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline:
NUN HAS THE BEST ASS IN TOWNThe Bishop fainted. He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey. So she sold it to a farmer for $10. The next day the headlines read:
NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the high plains where it could run free. The next day the headlines read:
NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE
Alas ... The Bishop was buried the next day.

MORAL OF THE STORY???
Being concerned about public opinion can bring you Much grief and misery and even shorten your life. So, be yourself and enjoy life !!! Stop worrying about everyone else's ass and you'll live longer

There are 2,791 members registered at this forum. All those who objected to SteveO and Nicole announcing their newly published TMS BOOKS at the TMS FORUM raise their hands.

BTW, I have just looked at the forum's rules and no where did I see anything that says a TMS author can't make an announcement of their newly published TMS BOOK! I personally found Nicole's approach very honest and direct, I can see though where some people in the throes of TMS may find this threatening.

Cheers,

I guess I've been away for too long because I have no F'in clue what any of this is about.

I'm just gonna write my book for me and anyone who chooses to read my take on it and my story. Sure Ego is involved, but only because I feel someone needs to hear.

I promise I won't market it here even IF finish it.

On a side note. I notice a lot of infighting here and it's strange. I think everyone here has a piece of the puzzle, and has their own path, so relax everyone it's just different views of a complex issue.

For the record Bryan, could you please name these anonymous TMS authors you are referring to who are trying to take economic advantage of vulnerable board members? I ask just so they won't be suckered into buying their books? There have been so many authors here, it may be difficult for newcomers and alumni to know which ones you are warning them to stay away from.

Thanks

LOL!!!

Yeah, some disguise their intentions better than others. At least he provided us all a good laugh. A few people challenged him to offer his "2 hour cure" to some folks here in the name of good will and research. He played the "I'm offended" card and took off. lol!

Any writer worth their salt who makes claims that they hold the answer to your problems isn't going to flinch at a challenge like that. If you are secure in your work... and someone challenges you or your marketing plan in some way, you come back calmly providing evidence. If not, and you try to go emotional on them... well there's all of the information you need to know about their qualifications and intentions.

But I digress... the point here should remain as my original post stated... Alan Gordon is doing it right, and should be praised for helping people the way he is. No need mucking up this thread with tales of past book-shuckers.

the only TMS book i've read so far that seemed like BS was zero pain now. That whole book and website screams "marketing". I bought the book and tried to ask him a question, he answered one time and when I sent another reply he said "if you need more help, think about upgrading to my support package". that entire book was a regurgitation of other TMS books and then 2 pages of "treatment". That would be the only book I felt like I was taken advantage of.

There's a difference between Steve Ozanich and Adam Heller. Read Steve's book the thing is a goldmine and every chapter has something good in it. I go back and reread chapters frequently. I mean seriously look at this website:

http://zeropainnow.com/

it looks like a website marketing viagra.

Oh I just listened to the video again heres what he says:

"My goal is to help 10 million people become pain free in 3 years. So I have to help you end your pain so I can reach my goal."

Does that sound like hes in it to help people banish their pain or to sell 10 million books?
