Hi, haven't been on the forums for awhile, any time back stuff would start to come up I would just remind myself it was TMS and usually went away fast and I have been doing nia dance which not only is exercise but very zen and relaxes me.

Lately with some big stress due to problems husband is having back problem came again and sinus puffiness, headache, etc and since I was mentally stretched I didn't fight it the right way and having a hard time now.

Back is better but not sinus. Maybe I have a better belief about knowing it is definitely TMS.

I start my summer job today and have had a lot of fear this past week about being sick for work. Our first two weeks of work are crazy busy and no one can take off unless emergency, so I haven't been sleeping etc.

Just about to leave for work, feel a bit better, but I also did yesterday and got sick in afternoon, having a hard time saying to self this is stress TMS let it go!

I finally got two nights in a row with good sleep now most of the anxiety is gone. It really throws the body for a loop.

No fever yesterday, felt better, but symtoms still trying to sneak in today.

My back hurt yesterday but not as bad, I just keep telling myself it is TMS and stress.

I once had the flu-like symptoms, too. Very often! Light fever, sore throat, shivering and growing-pains. It happened when I was anxious or stressed about something that will happen in the future like friends wanted to visit us at the weekend (there it was, the "flu"). It came from one hour to the next and was able to disappear over night so I could be sure it was TMS and not a virus causing my symptoms. I guess TMS is able to affect nearly every bodyfunction and even the functions of the immune system (tests showed that my immune system was overreacting constantly and I guess that's one reason for exhaustion and being overly tired all the day).
I also know people with "real" bladder infections (lots of bacteria and even blood in the urine) what was clearly triggered by stress.

Kind regards from Germany sends Birdie

Also used to get the "fever" around 99. I still get it when my anxiety is ramped from time to time, or when I'm having flu-like symptoms... which is also anxiety.

You're doing the right thing. It's all bull$###. Continue to remind yourself of that and continue to insist it won't slow you down. Your mind/body will heal as you lose the fear.

Thanks, made it through day but I took Tylenol twice. I don't like taking anything but I had low grade fever 99 when I left today.

My mid back problem came back full force today telling me it was from sitting.

I believe what Sarno said, the back is strong, my mind is causing this.

I am watching Fringe tonight and feel like I am in the middle of one of their storms between the universes!

Hey Marla,

If it helps any to relate... my first signs of pending anxiety/panic breakdown were sinus headaches, along with nausea. It's all been 100% stress-related and the rise and fall of those symptoms has all been tied directly to stress/anxiety. (Or TMS if you prefer.)

One of my main concerns when my symptoms flare is missing work... "will I be able to make it in, will I have to use sick days, what will the impact be.... etc."

Sound familiar?
