I start this thread to function as a lightning rod for negative energy in other threads.

I personally find it very inconsiderate towards a thread starter when the following happens:

- people post only negativity about the 'TMS-way' and pull down other people's spirits in their struggle to accept it as TMS and work on it. This is a TMSHelp forum and although you are entitled to post what you like, it doesn't help people in any way other than to become dis-encouraged further. If you don't agree, start your own thread, don't bother others with it.

- people react to those kinds of posts and it starts to overshadow the discussion resulting in that it misses the goal of the thread starter; getting help. Direct your positive energy towards the person that asks for help and direct any negative energy towards this thread. The thread starter will get the point you are trying to make when you post a link to this thread.

My simple request is that whenever you feel one of the above is at hand, post the link to this thread; send yourself or others outside. We have no bouncer on this forum, so we need to handle any situations ourselves. If you feel the need to take it further, post your thoughts here, not in the original thread where it started.

It might all sound pathetic and petty and I am sure some of you find everyone is entitled to post what ever he/she feels like. It is not a matter of rights though, just an appeal to increase positivity on this forum. Do with this request what you like, I don't mind, I don't have too high expectations, just needed to do this as it is the TMS way to deal with that what bothers you.

Thanks Gigalos, nice job! This forum's been needing a TMS/Reichian screaming room for a long time, this should be fun!

Cheers,

Hahaha, gigalos. Great idea. I get frustrated by those threads, too, especially when the OP sounds like he or she is in terrible pain.

A lightening rod...

Fabulous idea my dear. Mindful and gracious and reminds me of Bukowski who famously said:

"We're all going to die, all of us, what a circus! That alone should make us love each other but it doesn't. We are terrorized and flattened by trivialities, we are eaten up by nothing.”

Here's to the tmshelp Barfly's.
Whose round is it?

Just an example, although it makes me feel like a school teacher:

post 1 by John
"Hi, I am struggling to get better, have doubts and would appreciate some help"

post 2 by Frank
"Dear John, the more I think about TMS, the more I am convinced it is all a bunch of baloney"

post 3 by Bob
"John, I don't agree with Frank posting this downer here. See http://www.tmshelp.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8450 to read what I have to say about it or just ignore him.
Far more important, can you tell us more about your doubts so we can help you with your struggle."

post 4 by Carl
"@#$% to you Frank, ...., .... off from this place."

post 5 by Bob
"Carl, http://www.tmshelp.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8450"

post 6 by Carl or Frank
".... you too, Bob, you can't tell me what I can say or not in here"

post 7 by Bob
"Carl, no I can't, let's take it further in http://www.tmshelp.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8450"

post 8 by Carl or Frank
"I won't, bla bla. Long story that adds nothing"

post 9 by John
"Thanks Bob, I really appreciate your offer to help me. I suffer from bla bla and have doubts about bla bla."

post 10 by Bob (you made your point, only thing you can and should do is ignore those guys or add the link only)
"Well Bob, maybe you could try this and read that. I hope it helps.
Carl/Frank: http://www.tmshelp.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8450"

If any Carls or Franks want to post their piece of mind here, you can choose to either react or not, whatever makes you feel better, just don't do it in the original thread.
