Some people don't seem to be very affected by climate. For me I hate cold and really humid hot conditions.

In Florida I was amazed that people actually work outside and play outside ALL day. Then again Asia is even a hotter sweatier place.

So if you have a particular wimpiness to weather doesn't that mean it is teeumass because while experiencing it, it is all you can focus on, the misery, the horror! lol And being that we are all humans, why should some people be perfectly fine? And others wish for only the most perfect climate of say southern California?

Man, teeumass makes us pea princesses, that is for sure. And the weather intolerance IS teeumass. I've not seen that anywhere! Let's see if anyone disagrees with us : )

Even with central air conditioning, I swear that I am too cold in winter and too hot in summer despite the fact that the actual house temp stays exactly the same. Now, you all are making me think it's the usual tms baloney. I've always thought the fact that my favorite chair is near a big picture window might make that area slightly warmer or cooler than the rest of house. Either way, it's really silly, isn't it, to be such a "pea princess"?

Hi Sylvia, I think anticipation have a lot to do with it. We anticipate suffering and uncomfort when we think about hot and humid conditions. Our anticipation intensified the discomfort. When I was still suffering from tms, I was just like you. I hate extreme weather and I really really hate hot and humid weather. Everytime I have to go visit relatives in Asia I suffered greatly. I hate every moment of it and I can wait to go back to the US.
Now, I just couldn't wait for a chance to go there. I anticipate fun and a great time. The weather don't bother me much anymore.

The same thing with bright light for me. I used to hate bright light and sunny day. too bright would give me a headache and other symptoms. Not anymore. I love to work in the sun now.

tms and negative anticipation is what make many thing uncomfortable for us. Life would be very beautiful and the world is just the way it should be when we're free from tms/anxiety.

No, I don't know everything. I'm just here to share my experience.

Sylvia, SteveO once told me that in a mail, wasn't in his book. Hope I remember that correctly...

I am even sensitive to temperature changes that don't rely on the weather...Today we lighted the chimney because my mother in law was cold and felt sick...so it was very hot in the living room and after half an hour I got a headache and my pulse became faster. The colder, the better for me. That's because I really love the winter and don't enjoy the summer so much. Even my pain decreases when it is very dry and cold.

Really annoying and really bad conditionong!

Kind regards from Germany sends Birdie

You have better retention than I do. I don't remember that in SteveO's The Great Pain Deception!

Great you know someone that did. I'd love to be able to live and travel anywhere.

Now I wonder if anyone has overcome this?

Hi,
I am very sensitive to different kinds of climatic conditions and weather changes, too. I once read that only or especially people with a very hypersensitive and overreacting ANS are sensitive to weather changes. And then the reaction to climatic factors can become part of a conditioning I guess. It's similar to the overreaction to different food: the limbic system is overreacting to some "stimuli" interpreting them as danger. Stess hormones are released and therefor symptoms generated. The more we fear this symptoms the more the conditioning vicious cycle is strenghtened.

I have different kinds of overreactin to weather and food, too (when I was in the sun I feel sick for hours and sometimes get fever, my ANS really seems to be out of balances and has some trouble with regulating the body temperature promptly). But I am working on it.

Kind regards from Germany sends Birdie
