Hi

Has anyone had experience with Adam Heller and his book Zero Pain Now? His treatment is asking the person what they are Feeling in the moment over and over until the pain goes away.

Has anyone tried this or read the book?

Hello Alix, the link in your post doesn't seem to work. Can you re-post the correct link?

Mike, I enjoyed your story so much. It is so typical of what us TMS'ers go through. I belong to Inspire Sites for Fibromyalgia, Osteoporosis, Pain Management and Autoimmune Disease. I am trying to get some of them used to the TMS idea. I hate to see so much suffering. Can I have permission to post your link on some of my sites?

Absolutely, you can use my story. I wrote the blog to share my story so that: 1) I could heal myself by sharing with others and 2) To help others who could relate with my story and be helped in some way. I guess that's part of my goodist personality coming out.

Thanks, Alix, I will take a look.

Maybe you need to get another cat.

The repressed emotion is likely not about your cat, maybe indirectly it is. You notice your pain started when your cat died. That's good but, there's more to it than that. This is the part where it takes some work for you to search for the answers.

For example: Maybe your Dad didn't like your cat when you were a child. He hated your cat and was open about it. But, there's more to it than that. You hated the way your Dad treated your Mom and you and your siblings. Today you love your Dad with all your heart so, you can't hate him BUT, deep in your unconsious you hate him. It's an uncomfortable emotion to hate so deeply because it's someone you love. Because of this hatred for your Father it affects the way you handle situations today. It's a personal hatred that is so uncomfortable you could never share this with anyone especially your Father or family. In fact, it's so uncomfortable you don't even like thinking about it. THIS is repressed emotion. It's not just about your cat dying even though I'm sure you loved your cat. YOU have to find out what this emotion is for you. Nobody but, you can find out what this is. The Sarno books and other books out there will show you how to find out what is being repressed. It's not easy to find the answers. It takes some work and soul searching.

Has anyone read the EFT mini manual that is offered for FREE on the EFT site? His program sounds a awful lot like EFT.

You're not searching for an emotion, they have been repressed and transformed into TMS benign pain symptoms as a distraction.

What is meant by think psychological is think about what is bothering you that you can't talk about in "polite" society.

Look at the Rahe-Holmes list below for your issues:

The trouble I have with doing this is very often I'm not feeling anything, or what I'm feeling is fear of the pain. I have my pain all the time when I'm wearing shoes, so it is unrealistic for me to do this whenever I feel pain!

Lately I have been thinking to myself "this pain is fake" whenever I find myself thinking about the pain. It's something I can accomplish easily, rather than search for an emotion that's just not there.

I have looked at this before and it seems very much a ripoff of Sarno with perhaps some NLP techniques thrown in. He calls TMS Diversion Pain Syndrome and is very much a believer in the repressed emotion as cause thing. From memory the only. Thing different was his use of some NLP techniques.
tennis tom Posted - 03/28/2013 : 05:54:28
Never heard of him, but that is exactly what Dr. Sarno says to do: when you feel the pain shift your thinking from the physical to the emotional and ask yourself what is bothering you.

I would recommend sticking with the Good Doctor's program and fully understanding and applying it rather then searching for a new book or a new guru in the hopes that it will hold the secret to recovery. They all say the same basic thing in their own words. Constantly searching for someone else in the hopes of discovering the problem within is a distraction in itself. Write YOUR own book about YOUR TMS recovery journey, don't rely on someone else to write it for you.

G'luck!
