When I awaken from sleep I remember what has happened to me and deep depression and panic begins.

How can I overcome this?

A "top-down" approach would be something like using affirmations (see Ace1's Repeating the Keys to Healing at http://www.tmshelp.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7765

Whereas a "bottom-up" approach would be something like "EMDR, Gestalt therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, brief psychoanalytic therapies, Hakomi, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Therapy, NLP (not an exhaustive list- I'm sure there are many others that i do not know of) . And Coherence Therapy..." From Dr James' recent "How do you work with it?" See his post for a more complete explanation at http://www.tmshelp.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8348

I think another "bottom-up" type of approach would be TRE: Trauma Release Exercises by David Berceli.. More info here: http://www.tmshelp.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5666

Let us know what you've tried / are trying?
