Posted - 03/12/2013 : 06:35:59 I am retired but our northwest winters are long and boring so I decided to get back into additional writing for magazines and newspapers about a month ago.
I was barely showing any signs of recovery and while the pressure of the work is not great it still has pressure and lots of brain work. For the past couple of weeks my symptoms are increasing and my mind is very busy on the work...even when I am not working. Yesterday I could not sit and meditate because of a very busy mind on a project I am working on.
Has any one found that going back to work set them back or taking on a project?

Posted - 03/12/2013 : 16:37:55 What's your trait? Perfectionist by any chance?? I personally hate it when I start a project and can't let go of it until it's finished up to my standards.. also when it brings lots of worries, especially when it is a large project that lingers on for weeks or months. These days I find that cooking after coming home from work takes my mind of things and makes my nights more relaxed. On top of that I now rarely work at home to get things finished. With other words, do you have set time windows in which to work and in which to not work? Do you work in your house and if so, do you have a seperate room/office for it? ..... I think it is important to create clear borders between working and non-working, to give your mind structure and the ability to relax. As you are retired, you have the chance to change the amount of work to what you feel comfortable with. |

Posted - 03/12/2013 : 08:31:54 I used to hate Monday. It was always the most stressful day for me. New project, hangover, another work week, end of relaxation,...
I'm doing great now. I read in one of Dale Carnegie's book: "two prisoners looking out the prison bars, one saw the mud the other saw the stars".
I never forget the first time I saw snow when I first come to the US. It was so beautiful, I felt like I walk among the white clouds. Fog came out with each of my breath, the stillness of winter, the quietness of the wood in my backyard, the deers running away from me, the overcast sky,... it was so peaceful, so calm, so mystical...
