I recently diagnosed mysely with TMS after reading Dr Sarno's books. I would ask anyone to please read my profile and either post or E-Mail me with suggestions on treatments for the disorder. Thank you

Another Albert? This might get confusing...I'm getting angry...I feel a TMS symptom coming on now...just kidding.

If you have the book, all of the treatment suggestions are carefully spelled out in the Treatment chapter.

Hi Albert.

You have the good fortune of living in NYC..right where Sarno works!

Which book did you read? There is "Healing Back Pain" and than there is "The Mindbody prescription"

You've already initiated part of the recovery by reading the book, because it is the education of the brain that sets in motion the recovery process.

Than there are the 12 daily reminders...to stop and review once a day.

Than...continue reading. When I would get to the end,I would go back to page one and switch Hi-liter colors and read it again....I would remember NEW thimgs and have NEW things Illuminated in my past that reinforced the diagnosis.I must have gone through it 5 times in those first few weeks.

It is also important to resume physical activity.....that means breaking the conditioning of whatever you've been told about your 'condition'

The majority of us here on this forum also do a lot of journaling and writing about possible and probable suspects...things and situations that have contributed or are contributing to our dilemma.

We are all different, yet similar in many respects,so we all need to find an un-programming program,so we can

1)repudiate the structural mythology
2) resume physical activity
3) Think about our problem in terms of its psychological necessity.

welcome...

tell us more about yourself.

peace

you may just want to take a brief look at whether you have a tms personality...are you a worryer? perfectionist?? or have you had a lifestyle change that added more stress to your life lately??....then you can also take a look at the pattern of your pain...find the ways in which your pain doesn't add up...is it better during the day or nite....if it was a herniation causing the pain wouldn't be the exact same pain all the time?...just some things to think about...good luck
