Very crude and reductive but you get the gist.

Id = Reptilian brain
Ego = Limbic system
Superego = Neocortex

Yay or Nay?

I think the mental barriers placed between the "childish side" and the "good side" may be one great source of filling the TMS rage reservoir. When did we have to we stop acting as children? Most of the folks I play rec/club tennis with are at a 4th grade emotional level. Actually, I think I answered my own question; "adult" life begins in the 4th. grade--and, maybe stops it's development there too.

Dear plum, its a good question, but I really don't know the answer. I see that all of us do have a childish side and a good side. I'm just not sure if breaking it up into these compartments makes sense or really helps in anything.

I agree completely in that it doesn't matter for recovery. I'm happy with how that fares.
This was really intellectual curiosity.

I don't really know plum, but it really doesn't matter for your recovery. I would take the problem as being a unconscious strain (you've gotten so used to it you lost the ability to recognize it). Just look at my keys to see how to see it and reverse it.
