Yesterday I went to the Aquarium and said that I wasn't gonna sit in front of the big tank (which I'll go "rest" at usually. And usually a lot of pain from "standing too long" I didn't want any of that. And so I DID it. Which is a real good NORMAL thing to do. I even got into a fight! I was bending over the ray tank and there was a shark looking fish that was coming around to me and I let it glide under my hand feeling all peaceful and in the Zone, when this guy claw grabs me on the side of my ribs nearly touching my breast from behind shouting Are You Scared! I shot around to punch this guy and I was saying what the F man? of course on the wrong side, then I turn around the other side and this skinny teen boy is standing there and I say it again and he looks like he wants to die away. I take a step toward him saying what the F is wrong with you? And he's saying I'm sorry I'm sorry, he looks like he wants to cry. Now I'M feeling bad. The teen girl says that we are with a class, he thought you were someone else. So I look at him and he says he is so stupid and so sorry. I said well, don't do that no more.
So if I was sitting down I would have never been mistaken by a teenage boy to be a teenage girl with an awkward fresh howdyado. Small blessings lol

Posted - 12/16/2012 : 09:25:32 Excellent Sylvia!
You really have your head gift-wrapped around this TMS stuff! Maybe you can be a "bagger for TMS". Gently proselytizing the Good Doc's philosophy when you see someone in pain, as you help them with their bags to their car.
Happy Holi-Daze,

Posted - 12/16/2012 : 06:09:33 That was awesome! But just moving forward and getting out of the habitual. That night I also walked at night with my husband, never doing that. I wasn't timilng, I wasn't speed walking, just walking until my face felt too cold, then ducking in Staples to warm and then continuing to walk until there was a drizzle.
B4 when I tried to heal I forced and pushed by timing things and rushing and hurrying with my jog/walks. (Which as Ace says is counter healing) Now I'm not going to do that.
Yesterday I went to the zoo (never did the WHOLE place at one time). Again I decided I wasn't going to sit down anywhere. That was the only challenge I instituted. So I was there for like an hour and a half, absorbed and having a great time.
So this is working for me. AND I gotta find more to do! I'm not much of a shopper, I don't really like it, but today I am going to stay at the mall "exploring"
My goal is to get just any old part time job in the future. Like a grocery store bagger. No stress/pressure, lightly active, enjoyable short conversations with people, and getting outside.
I'm gonna make it too. But not forcing and pushing. As SteveO's book says its a process, and thanks to him I can stick to it. The Doctors are very wrong with their promise/expectation of 6 week healing. SteveO's very severe case took over a year. CFS is very severe TMS so I can be diligently patient now. I love that guy! Steve is allright. |
