Hey guys,

I've been here about 8 months, and have improved about 70 % or so, depends on the day, but now am having a flare-up of back/buttock pain. Could it be the stress of the holidays causing it? Just trying to figure it out. Yesterday was a ridiculously busy day, and today would have been ,but I just had to lie down for an hour and a half because of the pain in my back!!! But then I was off and running again to daughter's soccer game and now getting ready to go to a family get-together. Things really get crazy for our family this time of year, as it does for many. Any suggestions you all can give me to ramp it down some? It is driving me nuts, this pain!!! I have become accustomed to some good days lately, and when I have these flare-ups, it really honestly frustrates me so much!!! I know I shouldn't be getting frustrated, but I just want to be able to do my activities without that sharp, burning pain!!! Help, please!!!

Hi stayfit65,

You will be the best person to answer your own question, but I think you already know the kind of stress, anxiety and inner rage the holidays can generate in all of us. The question you may want to ask yourself, despite the intensity of the pain, is what is is about the current situation I am in or this time of year that is inwardly enraging?

Possibly dusting off Dr. Sarno's HBP as a refresher will help. In the mean time, stay calm and carry on as this too shall pass.
