Hi All,

It's been a while since I posted!

Can someone help me with a question?

5 months ago, I was in a minor car accident and was rear ended. The person who hit me did damaged to my back end and her "air bags" deployed.

My Parent's, and friends, convinced me to see a doctor and he advised me to get therapy!

Don't kill me for what I am going to say. I ended up seeing a chiropractor who specialized in bio energentic synchronization.

Basically it's a techinque that deals with how emotions cause pain. I figured I would try it since it kind of reminded me of how emotions can cause pain.

I figured, I would forget about the term whiplash and just deal with emotions..

Long story short...After 5 months of treatment my neck pain did not get better and so the Quackter decieded to do what's called Digtial Motion X-ray.

This basically takes pictures in REAL time when moving your neck from side to side, up and down. The chiro contracted an outside radiologist to do the imagning to find out why I wasn't healing.

The radiologist and the quack played back the video of my skelton neck moving back and forth and said that my second vertabrae is slipping causing and the reason was ligament instability.

Okay, since then the pain has gotten worst!

So, I need help in decieding is this TMS or serious injury.

Thanks,

Kalo

I LOVE THIS FORUM

Thanks Tennis Tom and Dave for your HELPFUL insight!

Just too clarify one thing, I did see a REAL MD, a week after the accident. He did 8 x-rays of my neck and the conclusion was a muscle spasm.

He let me pick which treatment I wanted to go too.

After seeing ChiroQUACKTER and he doing his Kabooki, and if you anyone care to know just google "bio energentic synchronization".
It is found under the QUACK watch.

I didn't know then, but, I know now...

I agree Dave, that this radiologist that the Quackter called in was working for him...The digital motion imaging guy does everything out of his portable van. There is BIG machine in there and it was hot as heck, LOL!

He said for a Swimmer my neck didn't look the way it supposed to look, and get this..He asked me what I had for breakfast, and I told him cereal then he asked me what brand..

I told him I mixed THREE types of cereal in one, but, the funny part is I couldn't remember one of the brand's name..

You know what he told me???? That I probably have suffered a head concussion...I was like are you kidding me????

Just because I couldn't remember one of the cereal brands name I have a concussion...LOL!!!

Well, I LOVE this forum and I really appreciate the helpful advise..

If you have concern that the accident caused a structural issue, I suggest you see a real doctor, and get a real imaging study done, not by a radiologist who helps a chiropractor justify working on his patients.

While it is certainly possible there is some structural damage, your story sounds like textbook TMS. The accident was a perfect opportunity to give you symptoms that you would believe have a physical cause and to send you on a treatment path that would solidify that belief.

Once you get a real MD to take a look, and rule out serious injury (not the typically benign herniated or bulging disc) then perhaps your mind will be clear to treat the pain as TMS. It seems you are already prepared to go down that path having accepted that the "quack" is not doing you justice.

Hi Kalo,

Ask me something about tennis and I can give you a real world answer. As far as my expertise in TMS, I've just read a few books (twice each, slowly) and regurgitate what makes sense to me.

When I was first shown the x-rays of my hip and the doc pointed out the difference in the cartilage space between my left and right I couldn't see any difference either.

I think doctors don't necessarily lie--maybe fib--and regurgitate what they were taught. They go to orthopedic conferences in places like Hawaii, Amsterdam, San Francisco and Palm Springs. They attend meetings and workshops, listening to learned doctors about the latest break-throughs, techniques and surgical devices such as high speed saw blades and $250 titanium screws.

At one time you could go to your local shoe store, put your feet into a device that emitted dangerous levels of radiation and observe the bones of your feet. A shoe salesman would point out anomalies between one foot and the other and sell you a new pair of shoes.

Kalo, you mentioned you were in a "minor" car accident and "injured" your back. If you believe you injured your back then maybe it is so. Again, to regurgitate Dr. Sarno, he mentions a study showing the high incidence of "whip-lash" claims in Finland while in the neighboring country they are almost non-existent. The only difference is that in one country you can sue for whip-lash and in the other you can't.

In the end we believe the lies we want to believe, (or that our subconscious wants us to believe). After reading the Good Doctor, I prefer to believe that the body is strong and that there's a high incidence of failed back surgeries. After viewing u-tubes of hip-replacement surgery, it appears to me to be rather barbaric and I prefer to play tennis than spend months recuperating or risk the side effects and possible complications of surgery.

If you can, see a TMS doctor for another opinion. Or, re-read a TMS book to try to balance out the information about how the body is weak the media bombards us with from the medical/industrial complex--or watch the Olympic gymnasts.

G'luck

Hey Tennis Tom,

I LOVE Steve's book...UGH, I forgot about that page..

My question: So if a vertabrae really doesn't slip, then how was this radiologist able to detect it in a REAL time Motion images?

Do they make these things up? I saw my "real time" motion on a computer screen and I really couldn't see what he was talking about even when he pointed it out...

Second Question: Is this ligament instability a lie as well?

Thanks, and I do love Steve's awesome book...Maybe I need to read it again!!

From page 86, Steve Ozanich, "GPD":

"Discs are structures located between the bodies of spinal
bones to take up the shock. They are firmly attached to the
vertebral bodies above and below and in no way can they
'slip.'
--John E. Sarno, MD, "Healing Back Pain"
