I just tried to search this forum for anyone reporting feeling hot spots on their skin. No pain... just sudden appearances of heat to a very specific spot. Years ago I used to randomly have the sensation of hot water being poured down the back of one of my ankles. I dismissed it right away as a manifestation of the autonomic nervous system.

In the last week or so, the feeling has returned, only on the top of one of my feet. The variations in the TMS symptom picture never cease to intrigue me! Has anyone else experienced this? It is like a hot blush! Hot damn!

I have not had specifically what you wrote, but I have, in the past, had just my feet get incredibly hot and itchy. I was told by a pharmacist that it sounded like an allergic reaction to a new medication I was taking for my chronic back pain and to stop taking the medicine. Stopped the meds, and the sensation went away.

Looking back, this could possibly one of two things (for my experience...). 1) It could have been TMS moving because of the treatment with the meds or 2) My immune response could have been hyperactive due TMS.

Now that I think about it...most of the times I've had adverse reactions to medications that I took for my back...the symptoms could be described as TMS as well...such as the severe case of dizziness (vertigo?) that I got when taking one medication...Took the med for 3 days...on the 3rd day I got so dizzy I couldn't function...stopped taking the med...three days later the dizziness stopped. Odd.

Anywho...since nerves are targeted by TMS, it sounds like it could be TMS to me...when nerves stop getting enough oxygen, they will react...some will hurt for a short while and, if the restriction is severe enough, will die off and go numb. Others may produce different sensations (pins, needles, tingling, electric shock feeling). I've heard it said that when one is suffering severe hypothermia and is near death, they may suddenly feel very hot and feel the need to remove their clothing...so it would stand to reason that those nerves that are likely oxygen deprived due to slowed circulation are firing off that sensation.

All that said...have you made sure it's not possibly something more serious with your doctor?
