Does anyone know of any TMS physicians in or anywhere near Pennsylvania?

I recently contacted the only PA physician listed on this site, and he

no longer accepts TMS patients.

Thanks for the update on Dr. Cohen. I am hoping that someday soon he returns to his TMS practice. In the meantime, I will keep looking.

As an update, I contacted Dr. Cohen and he mentioned that he was not seeing TMS patients at this time. He said that he was moving in a new direction. He mentioned that he did not want to work with TMS patients unless he was passionately invovled with them, so he does not do them a disservice, and that he doesn't have enough time at the moment to do this. However, there is a chance that he will start treating TMS patients again in the future.

I will update his entry with this information shortly, but just thought I would let all of you know about it.

Best,

Forest

This comprehensive list of doctors and therapists is amazing. I remember that 9-10 years ago when I was struggling hardcore with TMS there was not even a handful of doctors listed, no therapists and they were all in the U.S. Vive la difference!!!! Spread the word!!!

Heya, Goodney, try the following links (should be self-explanatory):
http://www.tmswiki.org/ppd/Find_a_TMS_Doctor_or_Therapist#Pennsylvania
http://www.tmswiki.org/ppd/Find_a_TMS_Doctor_or_Therapist#Ohio
http://www.tmswiki.org/ppd/Find_a_TMS_Doctor_or_Therapist#Maryland
http://www.tmswiki.org/ppd/Find_a_TMS_Doctor_or_Therapist#District_of_Columbia
http://www.tmswiki.org/ppd/Find_a_TMS_Doctor_or_Therapist#New_Jersey
http://www.tmswiki.org/ppd/Find_a_TMS_Doctor_or_Therapist#New_York

If you can't find any physicians on the list, another approach would be to try some of the therapists on the list and ask if there are any physicians that they work with.

Most TMS practitioner directories are updated only very rarely and are therefore out of date, so make sure to verify any information. If you find anyone new or any information that is up to date, just post it here and I'll be sure to add it to the page. I'll contact Dr. Cohen this week and update his listing with what I find.

I've heard good things about Dr. Leonard-Segal if you are willing to travel a little bit. She seemed quite passionate when I met her at the first TMS conference.

Best of luck!

If you are close to NJ, Dr Gwozdz is located in Somerset and he has a great psychotherapist he teams up with right down the street, Dr Chan. They are both TMS'ers, or reformed TMS'ers I should say.

Sarno's book The Divided Mind includes input chapters from 6 other doctors. One is Dr Ira Rashbaum, who appears to have worked closely with Dr Sarno at NY University's Rusk Institute.

Another is Dr. Andrea Leonard-Segal who is at George Washington University Medical Center.

Have you checked New York? That's where Sarno used to practice and I thought I read somewhere that he would accept patients from anyone in the tristate area...I would think that even though he's retired, someone is still practicing where he worked.
