Hi members,

I have had TMS for the last 24 years with all the usual body pains and endless medical workups. Last year the pain was in my right ankle and foot. This year I had the sudden onset of a burning pain in my left foot...sometimes the bottom and sometimes the toes. My neurologist finally told me that the symptoms and not consistent with any peripheral neuropathy, etc. i am doing Dr Shubiner's online course and have read Dr Sarno's books. At least now I am on the right track.

Have many of you had the sudden appearance of new symptoms?. Many of my symptoms have appeared upon awakening.

Glenn

Yes, I currently have the ankle pain. Mine is burning pain, almost like an infection, but there
is no infection. And I have the "hot foot" similar to yours. Mine comes and goes. I just wish it would go.. These are new symptoms for me, but I have had quite a few of other symptoms in the past. I hope you reply about the ankle pain and describe it. Thanks a lot for your post.

Thanks for the advice. I think the key is to accept the TMS and then move on. I had seen two other neurologists a couple of years ago who were quite blunt about the psychogenic/anxiety aspect of my problem. By the way I was disappointed with the neurologst at the Mayo Clinic Scottsdale. Maybe another attending there would have had better bedside manner. If any of the members need further care in thr Phoenix area,I recommend the Barrow Neurology Clinics.

The best thing you can do, Glenn, is get up and go about your day that you had planned, without fear you are injured, without thoughts constantly drifting back to these physical symptoms.

I have! I have had back/leg pain for 12 years and out of nowhere (a few times) I have had other symptoms present with no explanation. Only now that I have discovered TMS do I understand what was really going on!
