Posted - 04/02/2012 : 10:02:55 The strangest thing happened to me this weekend but I didn't connect the dots until this morning. Fellow TMS'ers understand the whole mind-body connection so I am sharing here. I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced something like this.
I ate a certain meal on Saturday that I hadn't had in a few months. The last time I had it was right after I had caught a stomach virus. I ended up throwing it all up and then being sick for a couple of days and just eating bananas, apple sauce, toast and drinking water. Anyway, I wasn't sick this time but after eating the exact same meal, I spent the next nearly 48 hours experiencing all of the same symptoms (except for throwing up). I had the same headache, the chills, the loss of appetite, the nausea, the head "fogginess", etc. I even was craving apple sauce and found myself drinking lots of water. This morning when I connected the dots, the symptoms all just went away.
Anyway, because of what I have learned through TMS, I realize this was all a trick of the mind. It was just very weird. Has anyone else had something happen like this with a specific trigger? |

Posted - 04/03/2012 : 16:20:32 one of my friend had panic attack for years. He was cure for 3 years now but still can not drink coffee. Just 1 gulp and he will have a full blown attack. And he was a heavy coffee drinker before he had panic.

Posted - 04/02/2012 : 20:08:52 Ever since I got a bad case of plantar fascitis about 7 years ago, that foot will periodically recreate the full-blown symptoms for an hour, a few hours, or a day. No trigger at all. Or, it could be a particular pair of shoes, that the minute they are on that foot and press against the old area of pain, it flares up. But not always. Very unpredictable. On the other hand, I can go out and run 20 miles without a peep from it. Bizarre. |

Posted - 04/02/2012 : 12:22:46 I still get 'morning sickness' sometimes if I eat grilled salmon. My husband used to ply me with it when I was pregnant and feeling dreadfully sick all the time. This was nearly 26 years ago.
I think you twigged that this was TMS up to its tricks and this is why it went away. Imagine you have a back injury and you continue to baby your back long after it should have healed, just like you babied your tummy. It would just perpetuate the back pain.
Well spotted! |
