Posted - 03/28/2012 : 14:24:51 I got back from a rheumatologist and he diagnosed me with fibro. I can honestly say that it meant nothing to me because i believe tms, fibro, bfs, etc.. are all the same thing, anxiety/ stress. I told him my biggest complaints were leg pain with a unexplainable type of stinging electrical feeling mainly in my right leg( it's weird), back pain, muscle tightness and twitching, also jaw pain & tightness. I told him I woke myself for the first time in my life a few days ago when I heard a loud crack. I was grinding my teeth so hard in my sleep I thought for a moment I broke my tooth. He said " this is al common with fibro. I asked what fibro was and he said sensitive nerves. I then asked if it was my nerves why wasn't a neuro treating me. He stated thats just the way things are and prescribed me cymbalta. I told him I wasn't likely going to take it and he seemed so frustrated that i could see him writing me off. I had a dystonic reaction to 2 meds and I stay away from the ones that really play with your brain chemistry. Well, thats my story, what do you guys think. |

Posted - 03/30/2012 : 11:02:37 re Christian recovery...
I just got back from a retreat in San Antonio, Texas, with Michelle Longo O'Donnell, who applies a kind of spiritual TMS program based on Christ's teachings and healings. She has a clinic where people recover from EVERYTHING.
She is in the same realm as my fave spiritual teacher Joel Goldsmith (he died in 1964 but you can order any of his 40 books on Amazon). They basically say that in God's realm there is no illness, and because Christ knew that, he could convey the vibe of it and that's why he could say Pick Up Your Bed And Walk (which is a lot like what we say here!).
Here is her website: www . livingbeyonddisease . com
On one of the pages there is a constant feed from their 24-hour radio, with her talks. You can buy her CDs, DVDs, and her incredible books, the first of which is Monkeys and Dragons. I'm going to post a thread about her and her work, because it is like a kind of spiritual version of TMS theory, and it has been incredibly important for me.
Love is the answer, whatever the question |

Posted - 03/28/2012 : 20:28:30 Germn19, I am a Christian too. In fact, my faith has been greatly strengthened by TMS recovery. To preserve my memory of this period of enlightenment, I wrote out my story. I would be happy to share it with you if you'd like. I referenced a lot of bible verses that seemed to help explain TMS. My address is tmsjptc@gmail.com. |

Posted - 03/28/2012 : 17:39:12 I've never had a clear idea just what the fibromyalgia symptoms are, but there's not the slightest doubt in my mind that it's just one more manifestation of TMS.
Same goes for any of these vague "syndromes" the medical world says "we think it's caused by...."
Back years ago when I was fully immersed in overcoming my TMS sciatica, I had one symptom after another trying to take over. One occasionally felt like my skin was "crackly" over portions of my body. Somewhere I read that's one of the fibromyalgia symptoms. Whatever... it responded immediately to my treating it like all the other TMS symptoms.

Posted - 03/28/2012 : 17:36:21 I agree with everyones comments. I've had anxiety and ibs for over 10 years. I think my body/ mind just finally said " thats it, no more." I totally think fibro is tms and a slew of other things, as I said. Thanks for the replies. I'll start moving forward and update my progress.
I do hold one view that might give me a different perspective on tms recovery. I'm a Christian and much like I've read I do believe you can talk to your body and that our words and mindsets are powerful. I believe tms has evidence shown also in scripture. Haven't run the whole tms recovery process but it's something I noticed from day 1. Are there any other Christian tmser's out there that have feelings about this? Thanks for the comments and honesty |

Posted - 03/28/2012 : 15:28:32 If your doc has ruled out serious disease, treat as TMS. Read one/all of Dr. Sarno's books, or the TMS book of your choice. Journal. Meditate. Swear like a sailor in the car with the windows rolled up. Stop playing the movie in your mind (google "mindfullness"). Beat up a trash can with a baseball bat, wring wet towels as hard as you can. There are 6500+ topics in the TMSHelp.com forum, go read a few hundred.
If you need a doc to say it to you visit a local TMS doc with all your previous test and doc results. If you do the TMS work (really do it) for 2-3 months with zero progress, psychotherapy could be helpful. Progress can be in small steps, it may not come all at once. That's normal, expected. Be persistant. No Fear.
Take care, -Stryder
