I am reading Dr. Andrew Weil’s book, “Spontaneous Remission.”

Currently, spontaneous remission is so unusual that, when it does occur, everyone is amazed.

Dr. Weil says that with life style changes and proper treatment it should be the most common reaction to disease.

Such a comment is difficult to believe but when one finishes the book, one can see how it can and should happen.

He is a strong believer in the mind-body connection and the psychosomatic influence. He refers to Dr. Sarno’s book as a factor in recovery in one of his cases.

On a personal level, my medical records indicate spontaneous remission with regard to the end result of my back pain.

My doctor wanted no part of Dr. Sarno’s book. He states that “these things do happen occasionally.”

Thanks for the tip on Weil's book, Allan. And congratulations on your spontaneous remission from back pain. Your doc's response is proably the norm, unfortunately.
