Posted - 02/27/2012 : 12:51:11 I wanted to share my story. I've had chronic back and neck pain since 2006. Like many others I've tried just about everything: regular doctor, physical therapy, pain management doctor, chiropractor, message therapy, physiatrist, acupuncture, home exercises, yoga, and I'm probably forgetting some things that I've tried. My pain was always up and down all around and all over the place with some acute pain episodes that have been intense.
I never thought all my other medical problems were related until I read Dr. Sarno's book, "Healing Back Pain." Now I know better. Here's my medical problems: neck pain, upper/middle/lower back pain, hip pain, TMJ, tinnitus, migraine headaches, tension headaches, IBS, constipation, duodenal ulcer, toe pain, psoriasis, and social anxiety.
I've read two of Sarno's books and I'm reading "The Divided Mind" right now. I had an appointment with Dr. Schubiner and I'm going through his workbook. It's hard to put a percentage on my improvement but, it's a moderate improvement and I'm pleased how I'm progressing. It's easier to get through a day of work and other things have been easier too. My activity level has increased. I've been hiking 3 times in the last week: 3 miles, 6 miles, and 5 miles.
I'm determined and motivated to return to 100% pain free. I know that I have TMS and I know the path to get there. I've been reading all of your stories, suggestions, and ideas. They've been an inspiration to me and continue to be an inspiration. So, thanks for that.
I've started a blog and I feel like it really helps for me to write my thoughts about my story and all of the crap I've been through the past 5 years. Also, I hope it helps others. I'm looking forward to the day that I can say "I"m 100% pain free." But, for right now, I feel much better physically and emotionally.

It did this a second time when my wife read it out loud to me. We both had a jolly good cry. I added your link to one of my messages today. Hope you don’t mind?

Great blog. Good sense of humor. I travel a lot for work, and I consider it among the "hidden" stressors. And I think Detroit airport sucks, which is a not-so-hidden stressor.

When I woke up this morning my first thought was to take things in order of Importance. So I took a nap.
Andy Now retired-every day is a Saturday.

Thanks for your post. I think you hit the nail on the head when you talked about "trying to heal and journal perfectly." As you can tell from my blog, that phrase fits me very well.
