Posted - 02/10/2012 : 21:08:47 After 20+ years of lower back pain, I was pain free for six or seven years. All thanks to Dr. Sarno's books.
But for the past few months pain has returned. Could my mother's recent death have anything to do with this??? Clearly.
I've recovered after a checkup with a local orthopedist who understands TMS. But then twice in the past two weeks, trips to the gym have left me in terrible pain.
How do I keep from thinking this is physical??? It's so hard to ignore the pain when it's so connected to my workout. I try so hard to push thru. But it HURTS. I'm heart-broken.
Thanks for listening.

Yes, your mother's death definitely would be a major factor in creating TMS psychosomatic pain. Take a look at the Rahe-Holmes list below.
