Hmmm, why would you not want to forgive them mate?

This might be the place where the battle is won or lost for you. Remember what I said
"Being angry at something or someone in the past is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die......"

Well not forgiving is like staying angry......you don't have to FORGET, but you must forgive.....just let it go

If you want to go even further down the path, you'll actually see that there is nothing to forgive anyone for. If you take at least 50% responsibility for everything that has happened in your life then you'll see there is no power is blaming, which just causes anger.

It's a profound conversation and not everyone is open to it......

Humans don't want to take responsibility or be accountable, and prefer to be controlling and blame. If you look at children this is the same thing they do....our childish minds are the same, even when we grow up. You have to observe this and let it go.

observe your negative thoughts and feelings.....then allow and release them.

Then they have no power over you, and are not stored in your body and your mind doesnt need to create a diversion for uncomfortable emotions that you can't handle.

Darko said: Just open your hand and let it go.....easy

Thanks for the advice. I did the pen exercise only once, thereafter I just use my open hand to simulate the gesture of letting go. I think this has promise to help me, as prior I was under the misconception that I had to "forgive" these past incidents in order to get by them (big stumbling point). Now I'm trying to use the letting go gesture as it is more direct.

Take care,

I use the Sedona Method on it. How does xxxx make me feel? Can I allow that? ( then feel it ) Can I just let go of that? ( let go of the feeling )

quote:
I just cant let go of some things

In my experience this is because I have some payoff for holding onto it. Either I want to be right or make them/it wrong, or some other childish reason

Being angry at something or someone in the past is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die......

If you keep telling yourself "you can't" then you will never be able to. Start asking yourself these questions.

1- Could I let it go if I really wanted to?
2- what would I have to do to just let it go?
3- why am I really hanging onto this past event?

You can let it go and don't allow your mind to tell you otherwise.

Do this exercise:

Pick up a pen and squeeze it in your hand as hard as you can for 5 mins. You hand will hurt like hell, but it will be almost comfortable to hold it that way. It will feel like it's too painful to release it so it seems better to continue holding the pen tight. Just open your hand and let it go.....easy

Good luck

Can you give some examples on how to "release it"? I have been doing ok with the events, feeling and acknowledgment, I've been getting stuck on the release part. I just cant let go of some things, and I need to get to next level now and let go.

Take care,

Check-in with yourself and really inquire about how you feel and what your thoughts are. As I've said a million times, negative thoughts lead to unwanted feelings, which get ignored or suppressed. This leads to TMS symptoms

That's good stuff, Darko!! At the end of your post you said "Check in". What do you mean by that?

Hi Folks,
I have been going through this on and off for about a decade, so I'm experienced

Personally think this is the worst form of TMS as it affects the sleep. I know when it first started I would go months on just a few hours sleep a night, I almost went insane. For me treating as just normal TMS has been the key. Look at what is going on in your life, how you feel emotionally about everything and what pressures you have. It's important to look at self imposed pressure as well as external. I find it important to allow the emotions in my body to move as they are blocked or "stuck". I haven't found a magic bullet and I don't see that there is one. For me its been a lifestyle change, and a personality change also. What I go through day to day also has an impact on my pain levels, I have to be present to daily pressure and stress and give myself a chance to process things.

I spoke to a therapist here in Aus and he told me that one thing he sees with all TMS people is that they underestimate the impact childhood and current events have had on them. One thing I'm doing is going over all the events in my life and looking at what I might have feel during that time, acknowledge then release it.

I have also found that my nervous system is wound up too tight and this is the significant reason for my pain. Check-in, you'll be surprised at how much tension is in your body...

Goodness, I'm having the same exact problem. I woke up this morning, my back so swollen in the arch that I feel like my skin is going to split. It's becoming excruciating. I haven't had this problem in a long time, now it's rearing it's ugly head. I'm going to have my mom rub out the knots for the next few days. That has really helped before.

i go through this nightly..its the kind of pain as if you were to sleep on your stomach with your head on three pillows(like you are in a backwards arch position), i feel your pain
