rotatorcuff Posted - 09/09/2011 : 13:07:43
Hi everyone,

From now 5 years I had Rotator cuff problem after the beggining of a new musculation training. At the crucial moment when I was expecting really good results from the training, I started to suffer from vicious pain in the rotator cuff shoulder! I could not lift my arm to put a t-shirt, or even wash my hair. I could not do any more training! It started in the right shoulder and then started in the left shoulder. So I decided to stop my training against my will. From this point I suffered a lot, I saw a lot of specialists but no one was abble to help me. I saw 4 physiotherapists, 1 ostheopatist in 5 years who told me that I had an abnormality with the position of my collarbones so they gave me some exercices to do but it never really helped, it changed nothing, even then, even if I stoped to use my shoulders, everytime I was using them to but dishes in the top of an wardrobe I was suffering. I could not even paint with my elevated shoulder. In fact I was really good but everytime I used my shoulder I had to suffer from pain.

Now this is getting interesting because, since my childhood I always drawed and used my hand but I never expected any sign of tendinis. I also always played on computer games, sometimes 14 hours in a row without expecting any problems and in bad positions.

Then I had this job where I had to retouch 2000 pictures per day, I was using my mouse and clicking every second, 8 hour of work in a row.. no joke!! Plus when I was coming back at home, I was playing a video game that need you to click the same ratio AND I was going to school where I was also using computer and the moose.

I then started to develop tendinis one day when I had smoke marijuana, I paranoied and I thought it was only the «buzz» but it started to become really serious some days afters. After 1 month in this job I decided to stop, I also stopped to play the video game, I changed for another 1 which need way less clicking with the moose.

So with the time, I limited my activities and was not expecting too much pain, only rare times when I was clicking too much in a row or when I was placing dishes.

And then a few months ago I started to draw a lot, I was drawing all the day and using the computer all the day. I wanted to make a good portfolio. I was hand drawing and everything was alright for 2 months. Then I started to draw with a Graphic Tablet (on the computer) and then even if I was doing the same moves like when I was hand drawing on paper, I started to feel pain. It started by numbness then it evolved to hard pain in the elbow, then in the wrist, then in the 2 last fingers. A few weeks ago I couldn't even draw on a normal paper, the pain was too much intense.

Now I have read MindBody Connection and started to think that it may be something mental. It is beggining to be clear, but I think I didn't find the anger problem. It's really hard to find this.

I noticed something : when I was reaching really good results from my training I started to feel pain and had to stop. When I was reaching really good results from my computer drawings, I started to feel pain and I had to stop.

In these 2 cases I was really making a big step in my life. Gigantic. I found something I really liked, that could help me get more confidence in myself, that could help me love and benefit my own life. In these 2 cases I found that I could change things by myself and that I was the master of my life.

But now, with the pain, each time, it's like if my body told me that I wasn't the boss here. That finally I had no power at all because everything I finally get control on my life, she is bethraying me.

Sorry for my bad english, and thanks for reading! I hope someone can help me !

Don't worry about the anger part of it. You're doing the right things. Reading the books, checking out the forum. I'm certain you're in the right place.

If you can't identify much anger in your life, then just accept that you couldn't possibly have so many things wrong with you. You say the pain starts just when you're starting to be successful. So that might be a great clue right there. It helps tremendously to find patterns in order to strengthen the case in your own mind that your pain is psychosomatic. ONce you accept that, you're just about home. For many to most, that's all that's required...

Welcome.
