Hello guys,

Working hard on TMS reading.

Today, I feñt a bit of stress because of various responsibilities.

I have always dealt well with stress so my question is: now that I know that I have to le t my emotions out... shall I let it flow?
On the other hand, does TMS theory say that stress can gmake the symptons worse?

Thanks a lot for your help!!!

I continue to have the sense that you're complicating things a bit, Mayita. You can't micromanage all your thoughts and emotions, nor should you try. It's futile and exhausting and counterproductive...

Honestly with respect to your TMS symptoms, I don't think it matters one bit if you express your anger or not except insofar as such an expression feels right and good to you. If it does, then fine. If not, don't worry about it.

Since i'm not very bright, I need to keep things simple. Understand that your physical pain is psychological in nature, and that's pretty much all that's required for most people. All your questions are excellent, but sometimes we can outsmart ourselves..

Thank you Dave,

Your words are like gold to me.

Regarding stress ( in the way of dayily pressures), you also recommend to let it out?
For example work issues and so on.. I always try to stay calm... is this ok according to the treatment?

Best

Be totally honest with yourself about your feelings. Do not try to hide them. If you can find some time alone in a safe place, express them verbally. This could mean screaming at the people you love, or crying your eyes out. Let it go where it wants to go, with no censorship. Focus on the feelings that make you ashamed, that you do not want to admit you are feeling, that are ugly, forbidden, and just plain wrong. You feel them nevertheless. They are not rational but they are there and you should try to expose and confront them.
