Posted - 10/14/2012 : 13:13:00 Thanks for the reply Mchan, what I'm meaning is how do you feel about the floaters, worried, a little worried, amused, indifferent, entertained by them like a light show at a Grateful Dead concert? |

Posted - 10/14/2012 : 10:02:09 I honestly don't know. I used to think they were because I have chronic infections which I made myself believe I had due to all the unexplainable symptoms. I then realized I only got them in shower and I just learned about TMS recently. Since it only happens in shower it's either due to hot water or its learned. I am wondering if maybe it was a learned reaction from being in a pool when very young with sun. It's a long shot but its all I can think of right now. |

Posted - 10/14/2012 : 07:38:00 I have gotten eye floaters for a few years but its only when I am in the shower for some reason. I have never had it checked out because I thought it was odd it only happens in the shower. |

Near sighted people tend to have lots of floaters and eye doctors don't seem particularly impressed with them, but flashing lights are of more concern to them, so if you haven't seen an eye dr. since the lights started, you might want to, just to be on the safe side. i am near sighted and wear glasses, the flashers have been going on for about 4 years off and on, more when im stressed though |

Posted - 08/17/2011 : 09:31:57 Yup, mine went COMPLETELY away as soon as the eye doc said they were nothing to worry about and I took his advice. He said they were, for me, a function of aging of the eye called a PVD. Dr. Sarno would call it "gray hair of the eye" and benign. He said we'll keep an "eye" on it. If I'd gone to another less trusted eye doc, maybe he would have said, this "could" be very serious and do the surgery talk (to help pay for the new Jag and the kid's private schools).
I'm not saying the TMS gremlin will not pull up the eye floater trick again when he forgets he played that card. But for now, I've got bigger fish to fry, I'm taking the TMS symptom challenge and trying to dredge up yellow stools and back acne, no small feat on the fly.

Posted - 08/17/2011 : 08:25:12 Happy to hear they went away. First I've heard anyone say that. I haven't worried about my floaters for years. I go weeks without even noticing they are there. But they are still there, if I really want to look at them. Just like any other physical symptom, I really think it should be checked out. People who have these symptoms can have retinal tears, and that needs to be addressed if you want to keep your vision. If the doc says don't worry about it, (which mine also said), then by all means, treat it as TMS. |

Posted - 08/17/2011 : 08:12:52 Sorry Jjh2go, I had eye floaters bad enough to see my TRUSTED eye doc, and he said it was "NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT" they went away immediately---TMS is the volume control for the pain.
Jaya, your list is a long one but I'm competitive and up for the challenge--the yellow stools and back acne are gonna' be tough to top though. I'm off to the chocolate store now.

Posted - 08/17/2011 : 07:42:08 I can believe all of them with exception to the eye floaters. I'm not sure how eye floaters are a TMS distraction. If you are seeing flashing lights, then I would go see an eye specialist. You are at risk for a tear in your retina. And floaters are actual physical objects that form in your eye with age. I've never talked to anyone who has had them disappear. I've had them for 11 years now. |
