Posted - 08/01/2011 : 14:28:02 Hi everyone,
About 3-1/2 weeks ago I read MBP by Dr. Sarno and was immediately convinced that my 5 month old “RSI” was in fact TMS. I stopped the acupuncture and chiropractic visits right away and also started full time computer work and playing my guitar whenever I wanted! It is amazing! I am on day 20 of Dr. Schecter’s workbook and am feeling much better. I really wanted to post here because I feel like the “Lone Ranger” in some ways because I have never communicated with anyone who knows what TMS is. I have read many of your posts and am most grateful for your encouraging words, they have really kept me inspired. Sometimes I feel down and discouraged because my pain comes back. Does anyone have any advice for what to do when the pain, fear and discouragement start to dominate? I try talking to myself and asking myself what is going on emotionally instead of structurally when I feel pain and I think this works but it is not an immediate fix. I guess I could use some encouragement!
Thanks! |

Posted - 08/08/2011 : 23:52:40 On another thread the attempt to get together is actually happening - with a possible meeting in Berkeley on Aug 16 pm mentioned.
Hi TT! Hope I was one of your "pleasant" meetings ;-)
Love is the answer, whatever the question |

Posted - 08/02/2011 : 11:59:33 None that I'm aware of. There were several attempts made to start one and I attended several meet-ups with one other fellow. I have had a lunch or two with some other TMS'ers which were pleasant. Maybe, if it were combined with a wine tasting event there would be more interest, but there are SO many things to do around Baghdad by the Bay. PM me if you want to talk about it, I think there use'd to be a way of doing that here.

Is there any kind of SF Bay Area TMS group that you know of? I would love to meet other people face to face. |

Posted - 08/01/2011 : 18:48:11 Thanks,Tennis Tom. I remember that list from MBP but it is very helpful to look at it again. Am I right in guessing that you are an SF Bay Area resident (based on your knowledge of horrible traffic)? I live in Berkeley. |

Posted - 08/01/2011 : 18:18:19 Welcome Aran, I'm at work so can't get into detail at the moment. But, the best thing I can think of off-hand, to help to discover the emotional distressors triggering your TMS, is to look at the Rahe-Holmes list below in my sig. It may be a bit outdated, like the amount of a mortgage to pay off and may not include rush hour traffic on 80 between Oakland and Vallejo.
