Posted - 05/05/2011 : 20:51:58 I wonder about your friend's case. Did it start after some type of dental intervention? I have permanent damage from a root canal...this is not TMS, it's one part of my cheek where I hit the ceiling if anything touches it...so I never touch it. A friend of mine developed trigeminal neuralgia after a lidocaine injection at the dentist. I had an eyelid twitch for a year after the same because the trigeminal nerve has 3 branches and the needle hit a place that affected the optic branch.
I know it's in some of the books that it can be TMS but as you probably know, this is the most painful condition known to man, highest suicide rate. I am sure your friend has researched the foundation. I'm all for curing things without meds and surgery but because this particular disorder seems more from actual harm to the nerve, I'd be a little leery about calling it TMS. Worth a try though, nothing to lose but if he continues to suffer, there is help.
