I was doing some research the other day about my joint pain and I came up with TMS. My joint pain has been going on since I was ten, with no logical cause. Reading the symptoms and causes of TMS, I realised right away that this was it. I have a really hard time talking about my feelings, but even just knowing what it was has made some of the pain go away. What is my next step? I've been to a psychiatrist several times in the past, but we've never seemed to touch on stuff like this. Thanks!

Thanks, Art! Yes, I've noticed since I learned what's really causing my pain, I haven't had as much because I've just dealt with the root cause instead of trying to fix it with medicine. I've been able to do my Photoshop homework with only the normal strain that comes with using a laptop. I do have a question, though: can TMS cause Ganglion Cysts? I have a few, and while they don't cause intense pain, they are rather frustrating and they won't go away. Can TMS cause other problems than just back and joint pain?

HBP's a must in my opinion. Fortunately, none of this is rocket science. You're already better than half way home. For most., the simple acceptance that their pain is not due to anything physical ("structural" is the word you run into a lot around here) is enough.

Welcome to the forum! You're in the right place.

Thank you! I'll look that up next time I'm at the bookstore. :D

Reading Sarno's Healing Back Pain and The Divided Mind helped me a lot. I got immediate relief from much of the pain just by reading and identifying with the syndrome. Best of luck.
