Posted - 02/23/2011 : 06:53:46 As you may have read in my past posts, I've had "levator ani syndrome" for over a decade now. This is rectal spasms, pelvic floor muscle and lower back pain, etc.
Long story short, just this past year they found the last two vertebrae in my spine have degenerative disc disease...and I'm only 35. They said I'm very young to have it. But they said this could easily be the cause for the pelvic floor/rectal pain, etc.
Now I know that in Sarno's books, he said that this is not always the cause.
Have any of you been diagnosed with degenerative disc problems but prevailed with the TMS route?
I just don't know how much I need to read into this as being the main cause.
Thanks! |

Posted - 02/24/2011 : 12:53:29 The stats for UNNECESSARY spine surgery are astounding, to the point that it could appear to be a racket. Someday, what we consider "modern medicne", may be viewed as having been quite barbaric.
I would not contemplate surgery, before traveling as far as is necessary, for a second opinion from a TMS doctor or mailing my x-rays/MRI's to one for review.

Posted - 02/24/2011 : 12:19:02 I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease of the lumbar spine in 1992 at age 30 after a particularly bad bout of back spasms. I was in severe pain for three years until I read "Healing Back Pain" by Dr. Sarno, after which my symptoms completely disappeared. I have had some flare-ups of back pain/spasms in the years since, but only of a very temporary nature, and I consider my back to be fine now. |

Posted - 02/23/2011 : 08:01:51 I was "diagnosed" with that in my 20s. It was a massive nocebo that took my years to get over. Now it's nothing. Ignore it. I work out 5 times a week, hard, including Iyengar yoga. Stop dwelling on it and the pain EVAPORATES. |
