I like to share the good stuff these days on the theory struggling newbies will be encouraged.

We've about 4 feet of snow in our yard, right up to the tippety-top of our picket fence. I've been shoveling snow for weeks now it seems with storm after nasty snow storm barreling through our area.

Yesterday I was out there yet again, and couldn't help wondering how much more this 60 year old body was going to take without registering some sort of complaint. A while later, as if on cue, my upper back cramped up so badly I could barely breathe....

A normal person would have taken the hint I'm certain. I was really locked up with a classic back spasm. But I had work to do, and I just trusted the strength and resilience of my own body...

Slowly but surely I continued to shovel through the pain. It stayed moderately painful, but I did gradually loosen up. For the rest of the day I went on with my life, just pretty much ignoring the discomfort.

Today it's almost completely fine. In fact I went out and did another hour's worth of shoveling just for the exercise.

 TMS is a beautiful thing!

LOL...well, 2 days ago I was crossing the street and had to walk on a single path, putting one foot in front of the other, heel to toe. I had to actually grab on to a mound of snow to get leverage and all of a sudden, my back twisted. I don't know if I can call this TMS...we contort our bodies to walk in the snow but when I got home I got flat with an Ace ice pack for a while and just walked it off. This incessant snow is getting to me, northeast USA.

                | art | Posted - 01/29/2011 : 12:46:52 I wish my other TMS problems were handled so easily. I bought into the back stuff right away on reading HBP. I was cured by page 30. But other symptoms I usually have to wrestle with a bit. And as a 60 year old runner, I do get genuine injuries.

There was a time however where I felt that moving that thing around was putting undue stress on my spine lol
