Ok a simple question but one I'm not sure of the answer for... if your surrounded by stressful situations which create more tms but you know you can't get out of those situations then how can you deal with the tms? Do you have to remove yourself from things that anger or upset for you to recover?

This to shall pass....

'Nother sane thought in the midst of an insane day. Stress does not cause our pain. Our response to it causes our pain. And we always have a choice about our response to stress. (Reminding myself about that hourly.)

I am in a very very stressful situation right now related to my job that there is no way out of but through. Eckhart Tolle's book The Power of Now is saving my sanity. Being in the Now, constantly telling myself that right NOW I have no problems is keeping my body from hurting, which keeps me more clear in my thinking. I've been saying The Serenity Prayer a lot too, which comes from my experience in Alcoholics Anonymous

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference."

It is also true that even within unchosen situations, there are choices. When I get my head clear enough, I can see them!

take good care,
Sue

You cannot always change your situations but you can attempt to cahnge the way you think about them. We are all conditioned to react to stress. Everyone is different. Things that stress me might not be stressors for you.
Change how you think, stop working so hard to make your tms go away. I have found the more you try the longer it takes.
Live you life the best you can.
Look back at posts by Hillbilly and Monte. They have been helpful for me.
