Very good! Can you give contact info for the TMS therapists he refers to?
The costs are commensurate with those I've heard charged by other TMS doctors. The initial exam by a TMS physician involves more than the usual brief exam by allopathic physicians. It usually involves a more thorough life history, palpation of the TMS trigger areas, and review of imaging the patient may have brought with them from past doctor visits. The high cost of malpractice insurance is a major contributor to the cost a physician must charge to maintain their practice.
Good luck with "resolving" your issue. I would look at this as a great opportunity to acquire TMS "knowledge penicillin". You will be enabled to take better charge of your health, understanding the relationship of your mindbody, thus preventing future TMS manifestations and expensive doctor, ER visits.

Posted - 12/31/2010 : 08:47:15 Dr. Fatteh conducted a very through exam, both verbally and physically. He had a good grasp of the TMS Syndrome and provided some insights based on his own experience of treating others. He has not studied with Dr. Sarno and wasn't familiar with the " TMS talk". Still he encouraged me to follow up with him via phone or email as I needed. He gave me the names of 2 therapists in the Bay Area and 1 in Santa Cruz to work with. I feel like I'm closer to resolving this. |

Posted - 12/26/2010 : 22:18:35 Update: Dr. Fatteh's office finally called back. It's $300.00 for the initial visit and $80.00 for the followup visit. Of course he won't take my insurance. I have an appointment for this coming Thursday. Does anyone know if his rates are in line with other providers?
