Posted - 08/01/2010 : 12:29:43 Suffering from so much neck and shoulder/arm pain that I cannot imagine even feeling better, part of the problem I'm sure. I keep re-reading Sarno's books, I went through this 3 years ago and it lasted 4 months. I really do try to think about the psychological approach and not the physical one, but having trouble when the pain is this acute. But others have this horrible pain too, so I am trying to put it in perspective. Not sure what anyone can offer me, but reading the posts is often encouraging, even if it's just to realize that it's not just me who is dealing with this.

Posted - 08/03/2010 : 10:02:18 Fear of how pain carried on before is natural. Whenever I get a pain it opens up a pile of memories of how horrid it all was previously. TMS is a worrier's syndrome. I should know! Try reading the success stories. I find Marc Sopher's comments on how good our bodies are at mending helpful. Without a memory I think I'd have TMS cracked permanently. Instead I battle with TMS from time to time and think I am glad I've got a memory really because I can recall all the best times too. Good luck! Lizzie
